Hmmmm... if everyone with a repulsive tattoo were excluded from Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, visitor count would drop approximately 85 percent.
We are not a gang, we’re a club.
off topic, but, so many people have tattoos nowadays.
Many look trashy, in my opinion, with all this body art. Some are tasteful. Why do so many want tattoos nowadays? What message are they trying to convey?
Someone in our extended family has a number of tattoos and piercings. One of the tattoos is of a drug syringe. What the heck is she trying to say with that one?
Boardwalk guard?
wowza...
““It’s an expression of me being proud to be Pinoy, a Filipino gentleman,” he said. “I’m proud of my country, you know, I’m proud of who I am.””
Guess he isn’t a US citizen but still able to take advantage of what this “racist” country has to offer.
Reads as though the park staff are Anti-Asian and racist.
Don’t ask me, I don’t have a single one, and I’m not afraid of needles.
So is the next step to tell a Jew to cover up his Star of David or tell a Christian to cover up his cross? I’m sure the guards only did this because they knew this tattoo had nothing to do with gangs and they would run away in abject terror from a person with gang tattoos.
it’s a private amusement venue on the beach.
it’s private property.
just behind it are the beach flats, known for crime and drugs.
even 30 years ago it was a marginal neighborhood.
All I can say is that’s one way to sell a shirt on the boardwalk. Less need for all that sun screen.
C’mon man! A tattoo that is about five inches on the upper arm is normal. One that spans 85 feet running up and down both arms is not. I’m with the guard . . . it that is the rule.
Another jerk looking for a pay day.
Permanent ink makes it more difficult to re-decorate as time goes by.
I don’t think it’s an asset that can be pawned.

Why don't you try asking? (politely)
Such people love explaining their tattoos.

“They’re not tatoos. They’re illustrations. Don’t you ever call them tatoos.” - Carl
“Devera, who said he raises awareness about recent anti-Asian hate...”
All you need to know.
He’s a BS artist.
I worked there growing up. It’s a far cry from the paradise it was. Scumbags now everywhere I guess.
