He may have been pointing out that there are things that are outside of the control of the mere earthlings. Or he may have been giving “scientists and experts” the benefit of doubt in this regard.

Ok, so we need to have a massive belt of rockets at the equator. When the sun is overhead they fire. When they are some degree off directly at the sun, they stop.
Eventually, we will move away from the sun. Probably about the time we’re all destroyed by Earthquakes from the moon’s orbit becoming non stable relative to the Earth.
We will move away from the sun and cool off. We’re all dead, the planet dies but global warming will be resolved once and for all! It’s a win!
