I used to take care of 12 bison. The head bull would do that too, even when we were trying to give them grain, which they loved. He’d hook his horn under the grain bucket and dump it all out on the ground, all 12 buckets sometimes. The bison ended up eating off the ground d because of him. I was a.ways a bit leery of the fencing, thinking he could bust right through it if he wanted to. Thankfully he never did
Your yor, you, wants to take the bull on? Sounds about right for a Yorkie lol, they are tough little dogs
Oh he thinks he weighs as much as Exeman, the bull.
Sometime after that we were walking down the driveway and he spotted the bull. He started growling and running towards him. Luckily he had been to therapy dog training, and he actually listened to me that time.
He likes to try to attack dogs bigger than himself. And every single time so far they have backed down. So the myth in his mind just keeps growing!
How neat to have raised bison. They do look formidable. Did they have little babies? I bet they were cute. Do you have any pictures?
You NEVER get between a mama bear and her cubs.
One time, my husband went hunting and our children, 3 and 5 at the time, were playing behind me, sitting in the driver’s seat. I had opened the door.
I decided to get closer to the kids and backed up, forgetting about the door.
The door smashed into a tree and got crumpled a bit.
So we were leaving; all of a sudden this little black creature came out of the woods. “How cute!” It looked just like our black lab.
We were going slowly.
Then a much larger black creature came out and my husband floored it. LOL!
After all, she was headed to us and we couldn’t even close the door all the way!
yes, they had young, every few years the owner would butcher one of the male bisons as they began getting older- to keep them from interbreeding, and to put meat on the table- one year we had 8 little young ones running around-
I did not get photos, but did do a painting of the farm- great scene= with mountains in baqckground-
[[So the myth in his mind just keeps growing!]]
LOL- the myth in my mind keeps growing too haha
Colorado does not have grizzlies. That said bears are just coming out of hibernation and can be quite aggressive for food
True, but that means they are after food they smell and not after a human to kill and eat. Predatory bears will do that. That’s why I’d never hike where there are grizzled, they do that just for fun.
I never thought about it until now, it must be awful to be a prey animal.
Good thing that baby didn’t decide to jump into your car :-)
Nice!
Do you have a picture of the painting ;)
I pm’d you the scene, click on the ‘our farm’ link- unfortunately i sold the painting- but in one of the scenes you will see the scene i painted
Oh Dear Lord!
That would have been quite the mess...LOL!
