My guess is he didn’t like the sign on the suv.
That first officer that took shot appears to have hit the suspect at a pretty good distance with the first shot. It did not kill the suspect but if confirmed, he is not one of the officers in need of more range time. This was 6:45 in the morning, there had been multiple shots fired and explosions on the street before the officers got there so anyone still on the street was either already a victim or was a perpetrator. Rolling up on that, I believe the officers did what they had to do.
At about 16 minutes in, the officer fires a fairly long range shot for a 9mm pistol and you can see the subject drop. More officers need to be able to shoot like that.
i understand the camera to distort distances, that is the nature of the wide lenses, but the shouting and multiple shots from what appeared to be a good distance could mean downrange danger for innocents. then one shot past an officer seemed reckless. what i would do in the same situation, i do not know. i am just pointing out what i would hope i would do. not fire multiple shots at an uncertain target, and shoot while friendlies are down range.
HEY, Quick-draw:
if you had bothered to fast forward, you would have seen THREE cops’ bodycams.
“if you had bothered to fast forward, you would have seen THREE cops’ bodycams.”
If the OP was up to snuff he would have provide the time to jump to. Another poster actually provided a link that started at that time.
OTOH, the video I got at your link was so slow in loading I couldn’t jump forward.
