Everybody in the music biz keeps dying. Everytime I turn around, another musician is dead. Soon, we will have nobody left to make music. When will the madness end?

Hawkins laid down tasteful grooves in his sleep. One of the greats.

Amazing thing is that there are so many unreleased songs in vaults that whole never heard albums could drop every month for decades.

Doesn’t sound like the new breed are up to snuff and too many have spent the past 14 months on holiday rather than learning new instruments or composing whole albums.

All the time they could ever want to get a studio tan.

Nowadays they’ll cut and paste the drums and horns from some old hit and loop the playback in concerts.

There are some great documentaries on YouTube of the Swampers, The Wrecking Crew (Los Angeles), The Funk Bros (Motown) and The A Team (Nashville). Also check out Joe Chambers’ Musicians Hall of Fame Interviews of these people.

These session musicians were masters of their art. They could make a cat eating dinner sound like a million bucks.
