I just saw one of the commercials.
The Noid is NOT trying to stop the robot to help out, like the article’s author says. He’s trying to stop the robot from delivering your pizza, just like he always did.
I, for one, do not like the idea. I hate Domino’s anyway (their pizza tastes like crap). What I don’t like is the possibility of taking away my job. I am a Doordash driver. If this catches on, the possibility exists for fleets of robots to take over deliveries for other places. Ergo, no job for me.
(Hey, I’m 58 and I have found a line of work that I can do that fits my physical abilities and my skill level. Not looking forward to losing it. Besides, despite the hiring surge that’s currently happening, no one wants to hire “an old, white person” like me.)
I do, too:
“dunno why people on FR desire putting people out of work in favor of robots”
With a robot you might get the occasional whiff of 3-in-1 Oil.
With Shantequisha...you get a huge lugie.
How are you going to stop it?
But yes, there will be a lot of idle hands, and we all know what that means.
I just don’t understand the obsession with driverless vehicles, robot workers, drones delivering packages...what are people, put out of jobs supposed to do to earn a living? This isn’t a Star Trek future where people spend all their time bettering their minds, this is real life where people get bored, quickly and start doing stupid things, (like posting on social media😀).
If the 21st century is any indication the Federation would really end up being the most doucebaggy political entity in forever.
At the rate things are going there will be robots for men too lazy to fondle themselves.
When most employees are replaced by robots, how many humans will have a job that enables to buy the products made by robots?
Smart people will always have jobs. The problem is how will the uneducated, unskilled people spend their time and energy?
Look at the inner cities for your clue.
The resulting law suits will drive Domino’s out of business.
Episode of The Big Bang Theory
The motivation was not from being lazy, just more of high tech geek stuff.
:)
Probably already are, in Japan.
