***will result in massive energy poverty. Prepare accordingly***

Right on the bullseye! That is why I am expanding my solar system... (can anyone spare a couple of thousand dollars?)

Look for Fornicalia style rolling 'brown outs' and 'black outs'! When will people wake up!!! We are becoming the world's laughing stock - laughing at our self imposed suffering!

Guess giving us the pipeline back wasn’t on the table. It created plenty of jobs in WV. There’s no magic wand to bring back jobs!

“ The interagency working group identified nearly $38 billion in existing federal funding that could be accessed by energy communities for infrastructure, environmental remediation, UNION JOB CREATION, community revitalization, and jobs well-suited to support hard-hit energy communities.”

Billions of dollars we don’t have down the rat hole.

Want to help those communities? Eliminate all Federal and State taxes for a guaranteed minimum of 10 years and turn them into Trump “economic opportunity zones”. https://trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/The-Impact-of-Opportunity-Zones-An-Initial-Assessment.pdf

Then sit back and watch it happen.

Will they do that? Nooooo.

It’s all BS.

WV has never reached a population of two miilion. There’s lots of rural areas that are comatose due to kids moving away for jobs and the elderly dying.

The answer is new residents.

W/o jobs that means retirees. W/o internet retirees won’t move to the state in the numbers needed. Verizon milked the copper line phone system, to the point it can’t be restored. Many areas in the state do not have and won’t have cell service due to the population density.

The only solution is broadband from electric utilities like that set up in southwest VA by AEP.

Update...

Speaking of coal, from a few days ago, posted by someone who lives in a state with sky-high electric rates cuz Albany refuses to let us burn it...

China’s imports of US coal, Canadian barley continue to climb amid ban on Australian exports

Question for Manchin: Why do the ChiComs get to burn US coal, but not Americans?

"Question for Manchin: Why do the ChiComs get to burn US coal, but not Americans?"

Why? Because of the promise of the largess of the federal treasury pouring into West Virginia and the coffers of the UMWA. All politics involve a quid quo pro.
