I have a tin of sardines or oysters pretty much every day but when I want to make a fish sandwich, I get some skate wings and fry it up in cast iron.

Now skate looks sort of like a manta ray but they are not the same and skate is delicious.

All good. I’ve always stated that I will eat anything that comes out of the water. Even things like octopus and seahorses.

even though tx is an ocean state it was hard to find decent seafood there and some times I would break down and go to the micky ds, I was always disappointed..

I think a lot of what is passed off as sea scallops is actually skate cut into circular bits.

Skate and monkfish...the poor man's scallops and lobster.

I eat a lot of skate and monkfish because I like living below my means.

when I was in japan, and found out how revered sea urchin roe was, I told them that in Mexico they’d scoop id out and sell the dried out shells for a 5c, to tourists
