Yes, and I've been on it for sleep issues as well as allergy. Benadryl also makes you sleepy while Azelistine (spray mist) and Atarax (tablet) can assist in sleeping better.

"Got it. So Benadryl is the only OTC?"

I am prescribed hydroxy zine also. I tend to have airway affective issues in the spring when the multitudes of trees with white blossoms, blossom. I don’t know what they are, but despite their beauty, they’ve landed me in the hospital twice, unable to breath.

I’m prescribed it for a sleep disorder but it has the added benefit of getting me through spring time, intact.

According to the FAA, sedating medications should not be taken until:

At least five maximal dosing intervals have passed. For example, if the medication is taken every 4-6 hours, wait 30 hours (5×6) after the last dose to fly, or,

At least five times the maximum terminal elimination half-life has passed. For example, if the medication half-life is 6-8 hours, wait 40 hours (5×8) after the last dose to fly.

I have been using azelastine spray for a few years for over abundant nasal drip. It works.
