I’ve been amazed at the number of posters on CruiseCritic (major social media site for cruising) who don’t have a problem with masking on cruise ships. In fact, some actually prefer cruises with masks.
As usual you and l are in agreement. The masks are a deal breaker. We love cruising and l do think the vaccine is going to be required. My view is the cruise lines will go along with almost anything the leftist punks at the CDC come up with to get “permission” to start up again. I also think the idiotic stuff will go by the wayside once the ships are under way. Unless the
cruise lines have a bunch of Karen’s to keep everyone in line, which would kill cruising.

That’s seriously disturbing. Let them if they want to; we would not. Lie free or die, Baby!

They fall into two groups.
- One group thinks they can only be safe if everyone, themselves and those around them, wear masks.
- Another group is either afraid of the vaccine or think if masks are good then masks and vaccines are even better.
I’ve attracted quite a bit of criticism there for opposing wearing masks to protect others. I’m fine with wearing a mask to protect yourself if you think that’s necessary but I do not support making someone else wear a mask to protect myself.
We have had two cruises cancelled. We have another booked for Mar 2022. If masks are still required, we will cancel that one too.
Masks would be a nuisance. What really piqued my wife was the requirement of gloves for anyone touching passengers. Kind of weird for a massage. Maybe that won’t be in the final order, but it won’t surprise me.

Amen!
Civilization as we know it has been here on earth for what ... around 7,000 years? There have been MUCH worse cooties and ‘demics, yet here we all are. And NOW, in the early 21st Century, the world’s population will end if everyone doesn’t wear a mask?

I doubt that it will be. Right now, the powers that be are in a mode of anything that ‘saves one life’ is worth it. Sooner or later they should start trade-offs.

We’ve given too much authority to the Fauci’s of the world who are only interested in two things, reducing illness, and increasing their finances.
Ever since the 1918 Pandemic, the virologists have been clamoring for ever increasing budgets to fight the ‘next pandemic’. The swine flu, the bird flu, AIDS/HIV, and now the coronavirus. Read any of the books on pandemics, they all include at least one chapter on what we need to do now to avoid another spanish flu. The answer is always more money and more power to the CDC’s of the world. Unless something happens, they will be demanding flu mitigation protocols next fall. After all, “if it saves one life...”.
