No one I know is not moving on
But then Rush said some things that Freepers disagreed with too, so...
Me too
Worst post of the week winner?
What’s the point of this post of yours anyways?
I see your point, but it’s only been, what? eight days since he died. We will move on. For News Hounds like most of us on FR, Current News Events will force us to divert our focus.
However, there will be a lingering sense of loss, namely because Rush was a ‘One Of A Kind’ type personality, even if you never met him. Even if you never even planned to meet him, he leaves a big imprint in the mind.
I for one, was constantly impressed at his broad intelligence that appeared to be balanced by his deep compassion for people. His easy humor was that ‘Spoonful of Sugar that helped the Medicine go down.” I didn’t worship him. I worship no man walking this earth. I just saw him as a manifestation of excellence in many ways.
Liberal heads explode every day that Rush is remembered. He has provided 33 years of material that can be rewoven to apply for today and today’s news.
To whom is this intended? Are there people out there who are not moving forward?
I couldn’t care less what you like. It’s not a tribute. EIB is doing this for 90 days until they decide on his replacement.
Just this week were many of the great OLD stunts and one of his DJ years slinging rock’n roll music I had never heard. Aborted phone calls, etc.......
Is anyone doing Rush’s show right now?
I would love to see Mark Steyn do it at least once a week if not the whole show.
Walter Williams was always great replacing Rush
"Here is x current story about illegal immigration ("caravans"), this is what Trump did, this is what Xiden is doing wrong, and this is what Rush said, this is what Rush presaged, this was Rush's prescription to cure it."
Next topic and so on.
Take these 90 days and frame the argument that Xiden is borne of fraud, this is what that fraud actually entails, and to that exact point, 'here are the absolute deficiencies of the Democrat Party entraining Marxism'.
“weeks long tribute”?
The man passed 8 days ago. That is one week and one day ago. Not 2 weeks ago, not 3 weeks ago. One friggen week.
There will be a time soon enough to get on to the latest current events, but I hope when the EIB begins doing that again, they will still play clips of Rush from previous shows. He had timeless wisdom. Not knowledge. Wisdom. There’s a difference.
What a weird post. If you feel the need to “move on” who is stopping you? Lots of stuff to look at and listen to. Talk radio is still going strong. What is your point? Are you always this selective and informative telling others what and who folks should listen to or do or is Rush somehow really irking you.....even in death?
I don’t understand your commentary.
There is not a lot of need to “move on.” I was listening today and they were playing recordings of some of his earlier shows. What fascinated me was you could not tell the “date” of the show, it could have been 2 weeks ago or 2 years ago, the message is literally timeless and the problems he was showing us how to understand were the same problems we are facing now. I think his shows could go on timelessly. He didn’t always stay with “current” events ... so I think it will go “on ... and on ... and on.”
F.O.
In these days of podcasts, talk radio is pretty old school. I’ve haven’t listened to radio in a couple of years. Even when driving I stream podcasts or YouTube talk videos.
I agree. Mostly we’ve been served a lot of vegetable lasagna. We need a fresh voice. We need someone to say maybe the Jan. 6 Capitol demonstration was a *good* thing. Maybe secession ain’t such a bad thing. Someone to push the case in their face.
THANK YOU!
Rush is the Socrates of our time.
I like that he is getting significant recognition.
The producers of the show are probably using this time to work out how the show will go forward.
I say immediately start replaying all 33 years of his 3 hour shows starting in 1988 in his same time slot. There’s a lot of wisdom and critical thinking to be learned by the upcoming generations. Then, after 33 years, start playing them over from the beginning again!
