Sean Hannity (I know, FReepers hate him) had a heartfelt message today about how Rush was a once-in-a-lifetime pioneer and literally created an entire genre.
I was teary eyed all day yesterday, and numb all day today. I miss him. He was truly an American icon.
I do and It still hurts deeply.Though his show today helped a little bit.Though I think his program will be gone in 3 months.
At least that’s what it sounded like.
Until then they are having rotating hosts filling in and out takes of his past shows.
Terry Meiners, a radio personality on our local AM talk radio station 840WHAS (Louisville KY), is as liberal as can be but still was gracious enough to post this lovely tribute to Rush on FB:
I took a group of listeners to New York City to attend the Rush Limbaugh TV show in the 90s. He was incredibly grateful to receive a personalized Louisville Slugger.
Asking our group to refrain from answering his question, Rush turned to the entire studio audience and said "How do you pronounce the capitol of Kentucky? Is it LOUIE-vill or LOO-uh-vul?"
"Gotcha! It's Frankfort!"
Thanks for strengthening the business of radio for over 30 years, Rush. You were a gale force that reignited our business and injected creativity into the talk show format. All liberal and conservative commentators upped their skills from your lead.
I appreciate the time and access you gave me in multiple interviews. My dad was thrilled to enter your NYC radio studio to see you behind the Golden EIB microphone! RIP, Rush.
It was like I had a friend in my home (or car, or on my walks) for nearly 30 years...like you, I did not realize it would hit me this hard.
...
YES! Though, at my age, it has become more and more familiar. Never welcome... But not unusual. For me it has become “almost” ordinary. But that’s just part of getting older... accepting the things you can’t change and knowing that your time draws near.

Yes I did when the theme music came on. I felt incredibly sad.
Be Strong & FIGHT! His spirit lives in all of us!
They can never take that away from us.
Mega Dittos!
