I know Germany wants their coal fire plants back. They are not able to produce enough energy with the wind mills and solar panels due to the bad winter. Germany is having power shortages.
Don’t know but apparently they need a few more in Germany just at the moment.
This is nonsensical - the US has over 200 coal fired power plants.
wow, 3 of the are right here in colorado
The email says there are only 15 coal-burners in the entire U.S. There are 15 in Indiana alone.
Three of them here in Kentucky are being sunsetted. They are actually concerned about where we are going to get the power to replace them.
Must be a typo. US has more than 15

It’s called “leading from behind”. We have to set a good example for the rest of the world. (Actually, has more to do with political payoffs. Little known secret, electric vehicles are much easier to produce. GM saves money but increases the price. Win/Win for them. Lose/lose for you.)
There are 7 coal burners in Colorado.

I should have researched before posting.
Thank you
Can you source this?
Not enough. 😕🏭🔋📴🔛
From Wiki:
Coal plants have been closing at a fast rate since 2010 (290 plants have closed from 2010 to May 2019; this was 40% of the US’s coal generating capacity) due to competition from other generating sources, primarily cheaper and cleaner natural gas, (a result of the fracking boom) which has replaced so many coal plants that natural gas now accounts for 40% of the US’s total electricity generation, as well as the decrease in the cost of renewables.[1]
Yea, a quick Google search gave me this.
“In 2019 there were 241 coal powered units across the United States which generated 23% of the United States electricity in 2019, an amount of electricity similar to that from renewable energy or nuclear power but about half of the amount generated by natural gas plants.”
Nope
“USA has 15 - building 0 more...Total = 15”
If your friend is going to pull peoples legs, at least make it believable.
The US Capitol building has a coal fired power plant within blocks. [NOT ON blocks...]
