I once had a renter who was a nursing student. He said that a male nurse in the area dropped dead from taking too much of it.

By the way, if anyone is looking to rent out a room, nursing students make great renters. They are completely vetted before getting into nursing school.

I’ve been taking Quercetin with Bromelain for something like 15 years. Started taking it to lessen the effects of my allergies. I was glad to see most of the things recommended to prevent Covid were already in my daily supplement regimen. I get the one from Vitacost.

I usually buy Life Extension, Now, or Jarrow brands of vitamins. Life Extension has 250 tablets for about $15.

FYI, quercetin is also found in foods like kale, red onions, green tea, red wine, apples and berries. I didn’t used to like kale, but over time I learned to like it.

Improved Oral Absorption of Quercetin from Quercetin Phytosome®

Conclusions
In conclusion, a new safe formulation of quercetin, Quercetin Phytosome, was successfully developed and validated in human healthy volunteers. The application of this new quercetin formulation overcomes the low bioavailability hurdle of quercetin.

I did some research and found that it is more dangerous as a blood thinner when one is already on thinners - I also found out it stays in the system for a few days so to get the potential benefit as part of a Covid therapy/treatment, I could take one 800mg capsule every 3rd day....because I have never been a bleeder but after a week of taking 800mg a day, along with 500mg of CoQ10, I got a nick that didn’t want to stop bleeding so I did some research and found both thin the blood - so I lowered my intake of Quercetin and stopped the CoQ10.

I hope your comment - and maybe mine - cause some folks to do more research before adopting high-level dosing of supplements deemed useful in preventing certain conditions, and maybe causing themselves more harm than good.

The problem with most folks is they figure if a little is good, a lot is better and they ingest way more than an effective dose.

Many probably take too much Zinc too - I take a maximum of 25mg a day because Zinc also bides in the system and as little as 225mg can have toxic effects.

Too many don’t understand that the biggest threat to the immune system is a dearth of certain substances and just maintaining a healthy level is all that’s required - creating ultra-high levels is generally more harmful than helpful.
