D.C. National Guard to activate hundreds of troops for pro-Trump demonstration

The mayor has the authority to make the request. I don’t think there’s anyone else that can do so. But she does not have the authority to activate the NG on her own.

Correct. Because DC is Federal land, only the President can activate the NG. I researched it. It's just a empty threat from the mayor.

Oops, how did I miss this? Still, she had to request and not order. I doubt they will be armed, and probably more like crowd/traffic control and possibly escorting arrested persons off site. It will probably be similar to their back up of Border Patrol during the mass migrations when they transported illegals to detention centers. They were unarmed, IIRC.

So despite the research up thread that indicated that the President had to approve the NG activation, it looks like Bowser and the Pentagon have decided to do it on their own. Did Bowserask for the NG when Antifa and BLM were rioting and attacking people? I don’t think so.

If you've got significant assets that the Left would covet, I would suggest that you get them out of the US. The same advice for Trump; he needs to get to a country that will defend him and not honor any extradition request. The NYAG and the Southern District of NY will be shortly indicting him and he will be arrested and imprisoned if he stays in the US.
