except, according to this article, its the taxpayers paying. That’s the rub for me. If the residents want a gated community and their own golfcar police, make it part of the annual community fee. But shuffling the same police they want removed from the city police dept under a different accounting category that has only one target audience makes zero sense. Unless you’re an Atlanta cop in which case I bet they’re lining up for openings.
Buckhead is not a suburb of Atlanta, but a neighborhood within the city. And it is the reddest part of town.
Now they want paid “vigilantes” because crime is so bad in Stacey Abrams’ Atlanta.
What they need ASAP is a ‘voting ballot regulator force’ to make sure voting is honest. “Oh, Atlanta”, (not the song). I forgot. Never mind. This Georgia Peach is rotten to the core.
The start of county warlords has begun.
Put it under siege, total logistical supply control.
Repel hordes.
This is how enclaves of warlords build into a new area they occupy, we are either America or we are a shiite hole slum and we are the menu.

If one stands back to look at this landscape....it’s pretty much how South Africa is ‘painted’ today....public police and private police. Public police only show up after a body is reported.
That’s a good point, though I suspect many cops here make a LOT more than South African police.
We’ll need something along the lines of a mix of the “strategic hamlet” and kaiserjager, where local people have to look after themselves/serve as the first line of defense. The strategic hamlet program failed in Vietnam because they uprooted people and brought them into clusters; we’re already living in the hamlets (and in many cases, with like-minded people at least in terms of security).
FWIW, there aren’t many 400+ yard (quarter mile) shots possible in residential Buckhead.
By far most would be 10-150 yds.
So you’re all set ;-)
