This ridiculously expensive Tokyo sandwich was worth every one of the 8,650 yen it cost us ($82)

I hope you toasted the white bread and trimmed the crusts.

“There was a little narrow, hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Philly on Chestnut Street back in the late 60’s”
But the owners still voted in 2020.

Well, to be fair, I did say "I'd rather..." - meaning: if eating out for lunch.
I make my own sandwiches of Genoa salami, sandwich pepperoni, smoked turkey, havarti, banana peppers, lettuce, tomato, and italian dressing. I just can't find a decent bun or bread I like....
=:-(

I just had an egg and ham on a hotdog bun topped with homemade habanero/cabbage/carrots kimchee. Cost me about 2 bucks and time in the crock.
Brown sugar is key in kimchee.

The real secret to a good cheesesteak is the cheese needs to be chopped into the ribeye on the flattop. Along with the steak fat, this method creates a delicious sauce.

Our Lawson’s closed 25 years ago. A shame, I grew up with one across the parking lot, loved their chip-chopped ham.

Then I guess they’d want $200 for my Mom’s chicken salad sandwich.
