Idk if it was accurate, but Cruz was reportedly on a Trump list for SC, along with Utah Mike Lee. Lee quickly declined interest. Cruz may have vaguely replied with no interest. Certainly neither gave any appreciation for Trump for being on a list.
POTUS would never trust either. He knows very well who is solid on Trump Doctrine and who are definitely waffle cakes for personal power alone.

I’m wrong? You mean Cruz didn’t claim being born in Canada to a mother with U.S. citizenship and a father without U.S. citizenship made him a natural born citizen? And you’re claiming I need to research him? That’s an easy one. I don’t know how you missed it. Look it up. He wouldn’t have run for President if he wasn’t making that claim.
His flip flopping on anchor babies is also easily verifiable. Same with his support for TPP. Sundance gives a good analysis of it in this link:
