Its dark and fast go the limit and peep will be on your ass,always. A split second and a quick drift can end lives.
The guy was a menace. The damage he caused to an F250 with a Corrolla was massive. He killed his wife, and put three other people in the hospital. The only road to the Keys was closed for hours.
“Oh, but he was such a sweet boy!” Well, so are the people he put in the hospital.

Those small cars should be OUTLAWED. BUG, FIAT, etc ARE ROLLING DEATH TRAPS, against a regular size car. Giving up safety to save gas.
We have a Chevy Malibu, which is longer than the older Equinos. All the Bells and Whistles, even tells you to CHECK BACK SEAT if you open rear door to but someone/thing in it. All cars, vans need that feature, simple coding could save a Child or Pet.
Sad story of physics.

A long time ago a friend of mine was killed in almost exactly the same way.
But his was caused by a blow-out from hitting a metal bolt lying in the road that was still embedded in the blown tire.
How do you know something like that didn’t happen in this case?

It happens on the ocean as well as on land. In the dark a light out in front is taken as a point of reference. You navigate to keep it on your left side at a set angle/distance. As the distance to the light decreases the light should move further to the left. Unfortunately, if the distance to the light is not known or worse, if the light is travelling towards you it is difficult to determine the correct angle and movement off the bow. If if is assumed the light is farther away that it is the vessel will be piloted at a decreasing angle to the light eventually resulting in a collision. Many sober and alert people have lost their lives in this way.

A menace? Tell you what - when you know what happened and can report that he was drunk, hopped up on pills, speeding, driving on bald tires, and texting all at the same time, then AND ONLY THEN do you get to judge.
I especially liked your EXTREMELY selfish statement about the ‘only road to the Keys being blocked for hours.’ How dare he be so inconsiderate to not consider all those poor people who would have to wait to get home or, heaven forbid, start their vacation.
Jesus had it right when he told the Jewish leaders who wanted to stone the adulterous woman to go ahead, but only if they were perfect themselves. Guess what? The woman lived. And Jesus sent her on her with a ‘don’t do that any more’ without condemning her.
