At least Stevenson was pro-American. Of course Eisenhower carried Wisconsin because Fonzie liked Ike, and his bike liked Ike. Ayyyyy...

It is bad business to use a TV show to promote a political candidate.

The only member of that cast who had anything to do with Wisconsin was the late Al Molinaro (Alfred), who was from Kenosha.

The series was shot in Hollywood, not Milwaukee.

The Bastard - 1978

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ap47vdxanU

Starring Tom Bosely, Kim Cattrall and William Shatner

Did anyone see this mini series when it came out? I was too young.

“The Bastard is a 1978 American two-part, four-hour made-for-television drama film based on the historical novel, The Bastard, written by John Jakes, originally published in 1974. It is the first story in a series known as The Kent Family Chronicles or the American Bicentennial Series.[1] The novel mixes fictional characters with historical events or people, to tell the story of the United States of America in the time period leading up to the American Revolution. The novel was adapted into this four-hour television film in May 1978.[2]

The movie was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in 1979 for Best Motion Picture Made for TV, with two Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Achievement in Costume Design for a Drama Special and Outstanding Art Direction for a Dramatic Special.[3]

The Bastard was followed by The Rebels, second in the series, and then The Seekers, third in the series.”

My grandfather was an old-school Democrat, pretty well-connected in the local party. He quit and voted for Reagan in 1980.

One of the things he left me was a book he kept of the Collected Wit and Wisdom of Adalai Stevenson. He was widely regarded as the major Progressive “Pink” of his time.

I swear today this thing reads like it was written by some middle-of-the-road Republican. The spectrum has shifted THAT far Left.

One of them played the leader of the street gang in Death Wish 3.

Just to go along with that asinine HAMILTON promotional. Never mind the NFL w BLM.

Wouldn’t you think these bastards would have the decency and sense, to “keep politics out of it”? Why would a mere entertainment program of any kind be promoting any campaign? Why doesn’t it stick to promoting itself?

Go ahead, keep alienating at least half your audience. In the case of HD, I’d bet it’s more than half.

IIRC Chuck was only around for 4 eps, not even a whole season.

What ppl like ron howard and the rest of these stupid celebs don't understand is that we regular ppl have a long memory and we won't be spending money to go see their movies, go to their concerts or support them in any way...they've pissed off half of their fans!— JayJay Bee (@jayjaybea) October 20, 2020

What a gut punch. I grew up watching reruns of Happy Days & it is so disappointing to see so many cast members supporting the lefty socialist agenda! At least the best cast member is on the right side! #Chachi— ✝️🙏🇺🇸Candace🇺🇸🙏✝️ (@TexGal4Life) October 20, 2020

@RealRonHoward It is a sad time when you take a great family show that has brought families close around the tv for decades to push an ideology of your own. Keep happy days out of politics.— RS2020 (@RS202010) October 20, 2020

I remember that episode even though I was very young

Fonzie made a campaign appearance for Ike. “I like Ike. My bike, likes Ike.”

Chachi is more American than Opie....not even close.

You're right! Chachi is a real American while Opie is a complete Marxist/Communist.
