Sharon was here for about 20 minutes and then left. She never stays very long.
I’m heading for the thrift store and then I’ll come home and fix some lunch. I didn’t get very far today, but I did an inventory on the boxes Kate gave me. Most of them are fruit boxes. There aren’t as many and what it looks because it’s a bottom and a top. Useless boxes, for the most part. But I’ll use what I can.
Teh bunnehs are digging holes in the snow to get at the poor shriveled tatters of the remains of last year’s attempt at a lawn.
My next plan will be a nap, I think.
No one was in the donation lot, so I just unloaded and left. I knew there were a lot of books this time, but I actually dropped off seven or eight boxes. That’s a LOT!
Now I’m going to fix me some lunch and then spend the rest of the afternoon wishing I had someone to visit with. Sharon’s visits always remind me of how isolated I am.
You could have a cat who hates you!
I had a nap. Next, I might read a book.
Yes, but even with a cat who hates me, it would still be a warm body that I could talk to and that could sass me.
I tried to find things to keep me busy, but I just got more depressed as the hours wore on, so I’m taking me down the hall and flopping into bed.
Maybe tomorrow will be a better day.
I hope your have a good evening and a cat snuggles up to you!
Did your foot/ankle brace get there?
The HP Lovecraft book came. Maybe I’ll read some of it tomorrow. Funny but I’ve never read any of his work. My bad.
You’ll either like Lovecraft or not. His prose can be turgid.
The ankle brace came. I’ve been wearing it all day. Don’t know if it helps, but I didn’t pay the podiatrist so I could ignore his recommendations!
I hope you have a very good night.
I've been thinking about writing a book, but I'm waiting for a character to walk into my mind.
The book is evidently a galley proof from Penguin, but it reminds me of the Doubleday Book Club. It was a clever way for them to rid their shelves of unwanted stock. I read a lot of books for $1.50 a pop, plus 50ยข postage and handling. I was very proud when I finally was able to buy a bookcase, when my Favorite Son was a very short person.
I’ll start with the “Call of the Cthulhu,” simply because it seems I’m the only person in the country that hasn’t read it.
As far as the ankle brace is concerned, it may take a while for your ankle to respond to it. The more you wear it, the more it will help. Especially if you’re doing a lot of hiking. Running. Fast walking. I love it when my ankle or knee braces do what they’re supposed to! ;o]
I just write essays. Some are good, some are “meh.” But all are titled, “Thoughts” with the day’s date.
And then there’s my journal. :o])
I write “Today’s Special Animal Friend.”
Today’s is not Jake.
I take it Jake is on the list for “Today’s Most Treacherous Animal?”
Jake could move the bedroom door with his paw and leave the room. Instead, he bangs around making noise so I have to get up before the other resident is disturbed.
Oh, to sleep like a kitteh!!
Good morning.
I slept in 10 minutes. I probably would have slept longer but “nature.”
Surprisingly, I don’t feel too awful, in spite of the fact that I was up three hours in the middle of my night again. Life is good.
The boxes that the iHerb stuff comes in every month are perfect for books, but all the ones I had were used to take books to the donation lot. I think it emptied three bookcase shelves. There will be more to go. Most of it was fiction, since I just kept them because they were good reads.
Today being Sunday, nothing will be done in the way of unnecessary work. I need to do that because of wash day being tomorrow. I always took it for granted that my body would recuperate after a good night’s sleep, but it doesn’t do that any more. So, Sunday = rest.
Rest is good.
The cats tried to mind-control me into giving them meat, but I ignored them. They’ll probably stage a fight next: that’s supposed to make me give them meat so they won’t disturb the other resident.
How is Shannon doing on her thyroid medication?
Mind control by cats is a dangerous thing. The first time you realize they’ve been controlling your every move, it’s already too late to break the control. We become their willing salves.
Shannon seems healthier, but she’s so grouchy! I don’t know if it’s the meds or the weather!
Jake, on the other hand, continues to get fatter.
It could be the meds making her grouchy. You might mention it to the vet, to see if other cats/dogs have had the same reaction. Otherwise, it may just be the arthritis in her old kitty bones.
It’s supposed to be sunny today, with no wind for a change. It’s not going to be much warmer, but there ARE visible buds on the trees by the library!
Yes, I will ask the vet if the medicine makes her grumpy. It could just be me ;-).
We have sunshine, too. And cold. But it’s better than rain.
