I cannot tell you how many times I have stated that we are becoming this society. I first read this story in college some 35 years ago and it still haunts me. Every day we seem to move closer and closer to this terrifying bastardization of “equality” being pushed by the liberals. And every day, I’m thankful for my faith, because I know no matter how bad things get, there is always HOPE.

This story, while extremely short, was made into an excellent made for TV movie called "Harrison Burgeron," and it starred Sean Astin (played Samwise Gamgee in "LotR" and Rudy as the title role in "Rudy.")
It's occasionally shown late at night on some TV stations.
