Nope. She disappeared two years ago (abusive spouse, allegedly) and they located her floating adrift for what they are saying looks like eight hours. Her disappearance and rescue are being investigated now so there’s no details other than a HORRIBLE headline.

Ran away and hiding from an abusive spouse. Became depressed and tried to commit suicide by jumping into the ocean.
God had other plans.

Thank God I was alive, said Angelica Gaitan, "I would have hated to miss my rescue!"

Hey, it’s obvious she was dropped there by a Tic-Tac shaped flying saucer. You woulda seen it, but the F-18s chased it away.

... no details other than a HORRIBLE headline.
Gotta blame Richard Nixon for the spark that set off the downfall of j-school education.

“I would have hated to miss my rescue!”
Excellent point...

Here is a quote from the story:
In the stunning footage shot by her rescuer, Visbal and a friend named Gustavo can be seen maneuvering their vessel toward the suspended woman, who appears unresponsive. In fact, they initially mistook Gaitan for a piece of driftwood until she raised her hands to signal for help, the Sun reported. We see the video from when the boat approaches the woman. I saw the man pull her into the boat and never see the woman "raise her hands". For all intensive purposes she appeared dead when the guy pulled her into the boat. Who writes this fake news crap?

Maybe it was the translation from Spanish to English but Thank God I was alive seemed like an odd statement.
It needed some kind summation. :)
Thank God I was alive. I’ve never seen two uglier fisherman in my life.

(The above is not a statement of fact. It is either opinion or satire. Or both.)

You’ve heard of Mowgli who was raised by wolves in the jungle.
Well, this woman was living with dolphins, eating fish.
I thhink she’s a Flipperican.
