>>Citing the $15 billion contributed by Broadway to New Yorks economy last year,
Why doesn’t New York give the $10 billion themselves since they were the ones who directly benefited?
Or how about reaching out to the Mayors?
DeBlasio has a couple of million
Nanny Bloomberg has over 50 billion.

Broadway, where the actors heckled the current Vice President when he sat in the audience.
Nope. No sale

Why don't they just charge $250 per ticket?
No, wait... they already do that.
Okay, charge $500. The truly dedicated artsy fan will pay.

Bread and circuses. Julius Caesars program to buy the support of the slave class. (It worked pretty well for him for awhile , too)

It always made me crack up that Broadway was the best example of the worst of capitalism. You want to see the divide between the rich and the poor, there it is.

I wonder if they have run this proposal past Fredo’s brother, the Granny Killer Cuomo, and the local tyrant Comrade Mayor De Fuc_up.

It doesn’t matter how much Federal money you waste, Broadway theaters will not be viable again for at least ten years, maybe longer. If Shumer wants to pour money into solving this first rescind DeBlasio’s insane cuts to the plainclothes police crime fighting units, hire more LEOs, get the homeless junkies the hell out of Times Square and paint over those damn BLM “murals”.
Until foreign tourists feel safe returning to Manhattan there is no viable business plan for Broadway.

Why aren’t the Hollywood and MSM millionaires sponsoring the arts and filling the seats with cardboard cutout audiences? For the price of a Broadway ticket you were once a patron of the arts!

I’m sure Seinfeld will gladly donate many of his $Millions for the cause. He can probably get princess Dreyfus to donate $Millions as well (after all daddy’s a $$Billionaire).

Schumer’s bill has as much chance of passing as his chances to Fck the pope. Maybe that’s already happened. Sorry.

“stages alive, stories told and shows going on,” are not in any way a necessity. They are solely entertainment venues which can be easily be done without until this mess is over.
Schumer is a stuffed shirt and totally out of touch with the common man.
