FTWD cheated us out of the societal collapse. It started out good and then they jumped ahead several weeks, skipping over the whole collapse part. And then they spent the rest of the season on a boat. I stopped watching after that though I’d heard the show picked up a bit.
I have enjoyed immensely the episodes with Negan. The actor is just so much fun... He just chews through scene after scene - his performance is so over the top it’s awesome!
As far as Daryl? I like the guy - he seems like a good fella, quiet, protective of his friends (like Carol), and is not afraid to open a can of whoop a$$.
The first 5 years were great. Since then the show has stalled out with a few good episodes here & there.

Yep.... JDM was great in the Watchmen, Rampage, and many others. He generally doesn’t disappoint.

LOL. I get why people like the character, but the quiet, tortured, reluctant tough guy is just lacking any depth. His character will need to step it up if they want him and Carol to anchor their own series. Carol on the other hand is a great character, with plenty of complexity.
When Scott Gimble came onboard as the show runner, he absolutely ruined TWD. Since he was promoted and no longer runs the show on a day to day basis, it’s gotten a little better but too little too late. The only 2 characters I really like now are Negan and Judith (especially when they are in scenes together).
As far as FTWD is concerned, I watched part of the first season and quickly realized that I wanted every one of the main characters to be eaten or die some other agonizing death (the most unlikable casts of characters I’ve ever seen on any scripted TV series).
The spinoff will be “Walking with Masks” about zombies.
Most TV shows exhaust their premise after five to seven years and become stale and repetitive. The culture also tends to move on to new issues and concerns. TWD has had a good run but seems unlikely to be able to continue based on Daryl and Carol in spite of the strength of those characters and actors.

It looks like Netflix currently has seasons 1-9, but not 10.
