That’s impressive. Yet, they can’t seem to figure out how to build their own dependable jet engines.

A couple of current photos of the Three Gorges Dam taken at night, chosen because they are pretty to me.
I was hunting for a weather forecast of the region, since there are two typhoons raining across southern China at the moment.
Looks like the water level behind the dam reached the highest ever a week or two ago, but has been receding in the past several days.
With the new moon scheduled for next week, and several storms for the watershed of the Yellow River, there is still a high degree of risk for the area downstream.
After all, China will not keep the water level this high forever. They may lose an entire growing season to this years floods.

If they try to take Taiwan, you can be sure this site is programmed into many incoming warheads. They get 30% of their entire power grid from this single dam.

There is some thought that Chernobyl started the dominoes falling for the USSR so it’s a possibility.

Has it occured to you that he is not lying? And that he honestly believed what he was saying was true?

That last photo of the ship locks is pretty amazing. As much as I hate the CCP, I hope for the people downstream that it is as good as it looks.

Just tried looking for updates. Enemedia, Twitter...
Bupkis.
Is everything OK now, or is there one mother of a clamp being put on all media coverage of the dam?

I could find very little on the rainfall totals or the flooding Upstream of the dam.
It does seem strange. If it was the Mississippi River flooding, the home made clips alone would almost strangle the Internet.
In all fairness I am not on WeChat and do not speak Mandarin.
But nothing? Looks like the Great Firewall of China is doing its job for the CCP.

We have Chinese acquaintances that do not agree with all that the government is doing.
Oddly, they do not discuss their opinions in public, even when we meet them in the US or in Europe.
I guess self-censorship is not just for the American working in a woke company, or for the millions of Trump supporters that can't be heard on social media ...

The lost agricultural production will be felt this winter. China is already buying food to make up for lost production both in the flood zones and the north, which ironically is experiencing a drought that is destroying crops. In the end, though, does the CCP really care if a few million people die from malnutrition? Would they even say anything?
