True, but someone no doubt reminded Brees of the fragility of quarterbacks in the NFL, pointed out the race and political views of the Saints’ defensive front line, and mentioned that when questioned, the brightest of them guessed that the First Amendment might be an aspect of their player contract. Standing up for your political views in spite of opposition is a good thing in the abstract, but most people would prefer instead to avoid getting beat up.
Trump is resolute.
See, this is why so many of us think President Trump is the best thing since sliced bread.
He didn’t have to say that because he was trying to pander for votes.
He said it because that is the way many reasonable, thinking people look at it.
And he said it in a way that WE would have said it.
I don’t care if Trump is a billionaire who eats his pizza with a fork-he does understand normal people. Perhaps it is all those years of being around guys on construction sites or whatever.
But he understands. And he isn’t cowed. And most of all, he understands: Never, never, never apologize to leftists.
Never.
They don’t view it as conciliation. They view it as weakness, and it invites more attacks.
I always thought Drew Brees was a damn good quarterback, but after that whole diamond thing...he came across as a bit of a dim bulb. But he should have never backpedaled.
Never.
“Now Breez is on an apology tour.”
Aw, everyone should send him an American flag
NEVER. APOLOGIZE. TO. THE. ENEMY.
I used to feel the same way about Drew Brees, Mr. President.
In light of his recent comments, however, I must conclude that he is either a liar about what he believes or a coward.
In either case he is no longer worthy of my respect.
