Yep. A liberal friend of mine lives in MN and is freaking out. NOW she wants a gun and suddenly, I am the one she is calling for advice. She is having anxiety and heart palpitations, unable to sleep as she is worried about rioting getting to he neighborhood and there is NOTHING she can do.Tell her that she doesn't need a gun and that there's nothing to worry about, she can just call the police and they'll protect her community.
"Remember, when seconds count, the police are only minutes (or hours) away!"
You might also remind her that the SCOTUS has ruled that she does not have a constitutional right to be protected by the police. The police are only duty-bound to protect the community (Castle Rock v. Gonzales, No. 04-278.)

Transformative ... Fundamentally TransformWell Obama and his ilk certainly went about fundamentally transforming every part of the executive branch into something resembling the authoritarian East German Stasi.

If cops are forced to abdicate their duties, neighborhoods will be protected by militias, warlords, gangs and mobsters. I wonder how that will work out?
It worked out so well in Somalia that Ilhan Omar decided to come to the USA and bring a little bit of "home" with her!
