The worst gun I ever owned was a Sterling .22LR. It never fired more than one shot without jamming.
Even that would have been better than nothing. Just barely.
If a revolver had one single advantage over SAs , youd see every LEO and soldier carrying them.
Many of them do.
Their back up for when the pistol jambs, carried in something like an ankle holster.
But cops and military are not relevant.
“I have an 8 round (357s) Smith that I really like, but I dont carry it while in my speedo.”
But if you DID, the girls wouldn’t be able to take their eyes off of you!
Had a S&W J-frame on a Desantis clip grip hanging in my front pocket at church today. But then, I was wearing jeans...
That would be a disaster on any gun. I got the range owner over and he somehow freed the slide and took the misfired bullet out. It was a POS anyway. Fabrique Nationale Republic of Spain. But it still worked even so.
“won by who can put their rounds on target first”
This. How many times do you read about gunfights where no one is hit, even at short range?
think black flash mob or black riot in a mall, or state fair like they did in wisconsin, and then rethink revolver...
having to use it is always worst case scenario, think worst case scenario thats occurred around where you live and assess
John Wesley Hardin, Wild Bill Hickok, and Jesse James all died from shots to the back of their head.
That’s how you make sure of your target.
Yep! However efficient enough to make millions for Clint E.... {:-)
Are you including cop involved shootings?
Revolvers generally contour to the human body better than most semi-autos.
Not mine. I had a really nice SP-101 that I liked a lot. But it was very uncomfortable IWB and stuck out like a sore thumb OWB. Now I carry an XDS and its comfy and damned near invisible.

I always like the one New York(?) where 11 shots were fired by officers and a bystander was killed.
I had unburnt Unique powder get under the extractor star of a Smith 686 and lock it up. Also, the ejector rod of a pre-1961 .44 mag backed out and jammed once (they changed to a left hand thread in ‘61)
It might mar one chamber in the cylinder at most. And Cylinders can be replaced.
I often wondered how many times you need more than 6 or eight rounds in a self defense situation.
I only have eight in my 1911.
8 Round mags are available so it could be 9.
No.
OK, I had that coming.
I would trust a .38 Special 158gr LSWCHP for personal defense any time before any .380 or 9mm. Besides, try as I might, 9mm handguns just don't appeal to me for some reason. I rented a CZ a few months ago and enjoyed shooting it, but it was too big for me to consider for an EDC weapon.
So my EDC continues to be a .38 Special, I have several.
One thing though, as I've gotten older I don't shoot that airweight model 642 as well as I used to. I'm considering an aluminum frame .22 magnum to replace it as my minimalist revolver. I would trust a .22 magnum before a little pocket .380, too... although the Smith bodyguard is OK...
Nice Colt, BTW. Is it a Diamondback?
Why would my 1911 be in the safe?
