“I definitely more limited meat selections at Costco. The Costco I go to has not had boneless chicken breast for a while.”
costco and their sister warehouse chains sell mostly factory overruns, that is, excess goods the regular grocery stores can’t sell ... with all the restaurants closed, folks who used to eat out are having to buy their own groceries and cook for themselves and the regular grocery stores can barely keep up, so there are few factory surpluses for the warehouse stores for now ...
I bought 2 rolls of sausage today. Plenty of pork in the store.
Rush had a caller on who works in the business.
He says that the problem is one or two workers get diagnosed, and the rest all become terrified and refuse to report to work.
All the result of a steady, deliberate ChiCom propaganda campaign to terrify the workforce and collapse the food supply chain.
Trump needs to start countering this aggressively with FACTS about the virus.
Stuff like....oh, I dunno .98% who contract it do not die.
Actually, it’s more like HUNDREDS are diagnosed with tests and the plants are shut down for cleaning.
“There are now a total of 783 Smithfield employees who have tested positive”
“146 of some 2,200 employees at the facility have tested positive for COVID-19.”

I can easily post a dozen or more specific instances that aren’t ‘one or two people get sick the rest refuse to report to work’.
Rush is wrong.
I might note that I live in a county with one of these plants. Over half of our tested positives and all but one of the deaths are related to that plant.
I live in the same community as this Tyson plant...adjoining town.
the local media, county supervisors, and other leftist subversives basically shamed Tyson into closing this plant.
While I am not a fan of Tyson as a company, it is typical leftist bullshit at work here.
I would venture to guess that tyson will give the place a thorough cleaning, and open it back up within a few days.
stay tuned.
I hate to see a meat packing plant close, but might make an exception for Tyson. Ever since I found out that Tyson was apparently a Clinton “buddy”. Knowing that they might be hiring Somalis could have a bearing on it too I suppose. I try my best to avoid Tyson products.
It wasn’t Rush it was his caller making those points.
Here’s one area that I’m well stocked.
We raise all our own pork, chicken, turkey, and lamb, and have about 3/4 of a cow in the freezer. We’re stocked up for a good year, without cutting back at all.
Looks like my stash might be worth some big dollars in the near future.
I sincerely hope there are no shortages, but I think far more damage has already been done to our economy than most people can conceive.
I fear we are heading for some very difficult times that will shock most people.
“I would venture to guess that tyson will give the place a thorough cleaning, and open it back up within a few days.”
The challenge is developing a decontamination method that can be used daily/each shift change/etc. Every time an employee leaves the plant and returns there’s an opportunity for the virus to be reintroduced into the plant environment.
Revelation 6:6...
Rush gave him the air time.
Clearly Rush wanted his listeners to think that was the case.
Why, that’s the question.
When clearly that is NOT the case.
These plants have HUNDREDS of positives each. They’re shut down because they have to be cleaned. And because you have hundreds of people out with the virus.
You can easily spot the rural counties where these plants are located. They’re the darker/brighter colors on the county by county infection maps.
The original salt pork, salt cod etc. were salted for preservation. The meat was soaked in water to remove the salt before cooking.
When I feel I am getting too much salt, I will soak bacon, ham, or other salted meat (I have one can of spam in storage) prior to cooking.
There are likely hundreds of positives sitting within a mile of where you live right now.
The virus is very contagious. You can’t really stop it from spreading.
The vast majority do not die.
Even Bat will make a come back.
I bet more illegals die crossing the border than die from the virus.
We’re actually testing a lot of people where I live.
The majority of the positives are in/around that meat processing plant.
Ditto the ones dying.
I don’t recall them closing the plant for flu outbreaks before.
And the argument you gave re: rush agitprop was ‘a cpl test positive, the rest don’t show up to work’.
Because that’s just not true.
HUNDREDS of those workers are testing positive. The plants are shutting down because you can’t operate with hundreds of your employees out.
“Even Bat will make a come back.”
Hope so...been missing the bat flavor ramen noodles.
