Coumo’s failure and D’Blasio’s failure to govern properly resulted in many, many more deaths than would have otherwise occurred.
Also, don’t run to the bank with the NY Coronavirus death count. It is being grossly inflated for some reason.
No one even brings up the fact that DeBlasio lacked the courage to make the big call.

If an infected person’s “home” was a nursing home, wouldn’t it make sense to send them back home after they were out of danger?
Where else would you send them? To their kids homes? The reason they are in the nursing home in the first place is because they needed nursing care.
This is from a person who’s spouse is in a nursing home.

Yet they order young healthy men and women to stay home under defacto house arrest under pain of getting arrested or fined if they dare venture out if their own homes.

In my understanding, it is all patients with active COVID infections that no longer, or didn’t, require ICU access.
That means 12 year olds would go to the nursing home with COVID for the level of care a nursing home can provide, to infect all the elderly who were otherwise quarantined away from all COVID people because they were at extreme risk.
It’s a slaughter of the most vulnerable by Democrats.

Neither a hospital ship or for that matter any hospital has the skill set required for the long term care of nursing home patients.
I’m sure the nursing homes would prefer not to take them back, but they get paid the big bucks to do the job they were licensed and that they signed up for.
This tragedy of care is on the nursing homes, not the state,
I suspect 1000’s of autopsies could be performed and it would reveal a sickening crime of government that caused death and labeled deaths wrong. That’s simplistic but something is so rotten as we have petty arguments politically and socially.
Some good points ... but nursing homes aren’t set up as isolation wards ... even skilled-nursing and dementia units have a lot of aids coming and going
I heard the state of California was forcing nursing homes to accept corona patients FROM hospitals and didn’t believe it.
I called the California nursing home my mother is in and asked if it was true. Imagine my shock and distress when I was told “ yes that is true”.
Thought old and infirm and those most at risk would be protected.
Nope.
