Nah; that only applies to sin, particularly anti-family behavior.
I remember some on here excusing the election results by insisting that Kentuckians are “conservative” and favored Beshear by some bizarre things as his nativity to the state (born in Louisville), without demonstrating how that would be a conservative trait.
The Church should do this, itself. Take care of your own flock.
Kentucky is in SIP, I believe. So, the Church needs to simply record the attendance and check in on the congregants at home for 2 weeks. Try to have the church clean and be restrained, reasonably, during a service. Heck, check temps going in, if you want to.
We ought to get something for this damn Shelter in Place, and occasional and responsible congregation might be part of it. It sounds like it could be better than untraceable shopping, and is just as needed for some.
That’s my thought, anyway.
I would think that parishioners would be willing to voluntarily quarantine themselves if they could go to Easter service. But Id also feel partly responsible if I attended Easter service and church members later died from COVID-19.
In fact, Jesus reprimanded the devil in the desert, telling the devil not to put the Lord to the test. But consider that some overzealous pastors read Acts 28:3-6 about Paul not dying after unexpectedly getting bitten by a snake, and then, ignoring their G-d-given common sense, die after allowing themselves to be bitten by a snake.
Insights welcome.
Well, its not the person next to yous choice “
That person should go hide in the basement if this flu scares him so much. It’s called personal responsibility.
thx....
I don’t live in Kentucky... but if I did, I’d send a photo of my licence plate in... Beshear looks like wannabe tyrant fool now... if millions of Kentuckians send in photos of the their plates... he’ll look like even more a fool! What’s he gonna do then... arrest everybody?
Note to “Red” states don’t elect Democrats, even of they seem “reasonable”... cause they’re not!
Hey Kentucky!
Any of you need a ride to Church?

Yes, that’s my license plate.
I drive, and you handle the shotgun. :-)
I know it’s a day late but,
“Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?
Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?
Oh sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble
Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?”
We don’t let the Flag touch the ground.
Why would we ever let the Cross touch the ground? Well?
This is not about the state taking over where the church apparently “fails”, but the state being aggressive towards believers in this fashion.

My post was meant to convey that I hope the Christians have their Easter services. I believe that they can do so responsibly and with the knowledge that they have not endangered anyone. This would be the correct response, I believe, to the Governor’s tyrannical behavior. Even if they received acquiescence from the Governor to proceed, I would still wish that they behaved as I outlined, to be responsible in this crisis.
The defense of Liberty does not require acts of recklessness for the mere sake of resistance to opression.
Also, I believe that we desperately need to find the way to live our lives to the fullest, while we refuse to submit to this disease. I believe that our actions to date have drastically reduced the loss of life. Without being reckless with life, I believe we can and should explore what options allow greater freedom of living.
