It’s not as bad as a trend that happened in my Area where shortly after the “safe at home” order was issued by the governor some people started an 8 PM to 8:02 PM bell ringing where you go to the door of your house, er, cell during that time and ring a bell, bang a pot and pan etc. to make noise to show solidarity or some other liberal feel good reason why you were “quarantined“.

Thankfully that only lasted about a week before it finally died off. After a day or two of the annoying bell ringing, some more enterprising individuals decide to launch off fireworks instead, that really upset the liberals and probably help stop the stupid bells.

I don’t see anything wrong with this. Teachers have a special connection to their kids. They’ve been with them 7 hours a day for the last six months. Our town had about 10 days ago. It was the most excitement we’ve seen in three weeks.

I wondered what that weirdness was today. Cars with balloons, and safety tape.

I was a public school teacher for over 30 years. Never in a union, never went on strike. After five years I had tenure, which meant that I couldn’t be replaced because my principal’s niece was looking for a job—happened to my wife. Had contracts and was paid for 180 days a year. My pay was divided into 12 paychecks rather than 9. Most teachers preferred that because they can’t manage their money. Schools preferred it because they got to keep the interest earned for most of the year.
Unlike other jobs that have seasonal layoffs, teachers are specifically excluded from unemployment checks during the summer if they have contracts for the next year. Most younger teachers take on summer jobs.
I grew up in SoCal. Big Hollywood stars would troop down to the unemployment office as soon as a film production stopped. It was almost a point of pride for them.
I truly understand the animosity by many for public school teachers. And in many cases it is well deserved. I cannot stand the idea of teachers unions and strikes that always seem to occur at the very beginning or end of the school year. The men and women I worked with worked hard to teach the kids in their classes. I was very lucky in my career.

You were BLESSED.
So was I.

Once again, friends: the issue is NEVER the issue, the issue is ALWAYS the revolution.
Teachers ¡sí!, churches ¡no!

Churches ¡sí!

Revolucionesn ¡no!

¡No seas payaso!

Yes, I was. Every day I thank God for the blessings He has bestowed on me.

How odd.

My Mother was a teacher of first and second grade.

My Grandmother was a one room schoolhouse teacher around 1923 in Pittsburg county, Oklahoma. She kept a knife in her purse because she was a slip of a girl then. Her S-in-L, My Great Aunt Olive also taught in a one room schoolhouse in another little community nearby.

I don't believe any of them would be a part of such foolishness. A profession like teaching should not be a party to celebrity faddisms. It can only harm authority. Especially during a self quarantine.
