Probably was in line for this under the Obama administration.
Not what I read
Maybe I read more articles than you did.
>> When the first few sailors got sick and tested positive, the CO wanted to get them off the ship before it spread. He was ordered to keep them on board by his chain of command, and a few infected sailors quickly became 93. <<
>> Now that aircraft carrier, one of two tasked with defending us from China, is out of the fight, because of the Navy brass not the CO. <<
As I understand it, the CO wanted the entire carrier nearly evacuated. IOW, *HE* WANTED THE CARRIER OUT OF ACTION.
Im pretty sure all of us know and understand what was going on and why he did it. What he said was not the issue, but the process in which he went about it.
On March 24, USA Today reported that three, and then eventually eight crew members tested positive for the coronavirus. The U.S. Navy immediately acted to remove the members as soon as possible.
Once discovered, “several dozens” of crew members were tested as positive. The ship docked in Guam on March 27, where there was insufficient quarantine quarters available.
No crew members have required hospitalization, ICUs, ventilators.
The CO’s letter accomplished nothing other than to point out to the news media that the Chinese had taken out one of our carriers.
Both can be true.
He could have sent this up the chain of command while at the same time leaking it to others.
The co purposely allowed that email to be leaked to the press, whether intentional or not.
I'm going to need your encryption key.
And like Vindman this episode will not hurt Croziers career at all.
Obama tried to make Bergdahl to be a “hero”.
you dont rise to command a nimitz class carrier without having your sh*t pretty well together even with 8 years of ray mabus lousing things up.
Well that should fire them up. </sarcasm>
Or maybe I read them sooner.
We’re both probably wrong
I read that hes the immediate past commander of that ship and is talking the helm temporarily
Meanwhile we are not only down a carrier, by the skipper made damn well sure the entire world knows it. Especially our enemies.
Loose lips sink ships. Your dopey CO blabbed to the world. Needs to be keelhauled.
I guess you didn't have the opportunity to know General McCaffrey
Barry R McCaffrey Verified account @mccaffreyr3 Apr 3 Terrible decision ACTING Sec Navy to fire this superb commander of USS Roosevelt in Guam. Devastating signal to the Fleet. Capt Crozier took care of his sailors.
The leftist losers who frequently inhabit the upper management levels of the military ALL should have been immediately fired by President Trump.
never in my life would i think this group would be cheering a craven civvie ex-defense contractor who boards a ship to trash a beloved CO over that CO who stood up for his men.
even if the secretary is in the right, it’s such a political stupid move that it makes me trust the underlying decision to relieve him even less.
“I guess you didn’t have the opportunity to know General McCaffrey”
Nope. So what?
“Barry Richard McCaffrey....served on U.S. President Bill Clinton’s Cabinet as the Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy....
He is currently a paid military analyst for NBC and MSNBC....
In March 2018 he claimed that United States president Donald Trump was under the sway of Russian President Vladimir Putin....” - Wiki
Please feel free to stuff General McCaffrey up your ass!
