Points that will be ignored by the media in their effort to discredit President Trump.

Well and truly stated! ... especially number six, and the American voter age sovereigns had better remember that in November so the demon rat party is crushed from power.

They have tackled it successfully, for many of the reasons you list. But they are having difficulty keeping it down. In the 3 weeks since their new cases dropped precipitously, they have fought off cluster after cluster, averaging about 100 new cases a day as they prevent clusters from becoming outbreaks. For all the reasons you list, our struggle will be more difficult unless we can find a way to fight it using our relative strengths.

Why do you think they are not allowed? A business my son works at does that every morning, as you come through the doors.

I’ve been checking my temperature at least twice a day.

I mean...opening up the country for business by checking temps...my son had to lay off 11 employees last Friday...construction. ..why? Probably because the INSPECTORS aren’t working...check the Inspectors temps!!!

Thanks MHGinTN.

By the way, I saw you had started a thread that had a more positive note to it (about Rush Limbaugh, I believe) but I didn’t even bother to post there. I am tired of the back-biting.

Poor Rush. I don’t doubt he is feeling the weight of it all. But I got the point you were making.

I just wish we could find some middle area where we didn’t have to be accused of total defeatism if you post something bad, or accused of sticking your fingers in your ears and covering your eyes if you post something optimistic.

Good gosh, most people don’t inhabit those extremes. But everyone seems to take one side as some kind of insult against the other, and vice versa.

I wish people could just talk and have a civil discussion. People are afraid and worried, and that often brings out a poorer side in many of us.

Yes. We have to use our relative strengths.

One of those is our economic prowess, our capitalist market driven economy.

I read a great book a while back, “Freedom’s Forge” in which we leveraged exactly that, our desire for financial gain and our capitalist system, as a force to defeat our enemies. There were many in the Roosevelt Administration (like the reprehensible Harold Ickes Sr.) who didn’t want people to profit. But Harold Knudsen, the unsung hero of WWII, convinced Roosevelt to allow the arms manufacturers to profit, and profit richly if they could produce...and they sure did.

I don’t know what the right way out of this is.

But if it were me, I would have taken a few billion out of that asinine two trillion dollar CARES bill, and offered it as a prize for a fast test, and another few billion for the first vaccine.

Let industry chew on it and get rich.

Then try a phased approach once a fast test is available to get back to work. If you test positive for antibodies, you can go back to work. If you don’t, you have to wait for a vaccine. And so on.

I understand there is far more that I don’t know about this, so I am just another person with an opinion. I readily admit I don’t have the answer.

But something in my heart feels like this current approach is not the right approach. It just feels like burning down a house to get rid of a spider.

South Korea didn’t panic - but it also didn’t go into denial.

That doesn’t suit the totalitarian left.
