I saw one in a tree in my neighborhood last week.
Western suburbs of Richmond VA.
they’re at the dumps kicking the crows asses for the premium garbage here in north idaho.
Here in Stanwood, Washington State, my friend for approx. 5 plus year's did his "ROAD KILL SEARCH,"every day, also let all of his numerous friends know to call him in case of Road Kill, he was feeding a set of Bald Eagles. The field that he setup the "feeding station" a piece of 3' Ft. X 3' Ft. plywood, on top of a 4' ft high post, 4" in. X 4"in. Was approx. 1/2 mile plus to the nest, when he would stop his truck, before he made it to the feeding station (ten -fifteen yards from the road) with the soup du jour (road kill of the day) the Eagles were in the AIR, and coming quick!!!!
Eagles are proof, that GOD has a GREAT sense of humor. If you have never seen an Eagle walk of the ground, be prepared to laugh big time. Think a drunken sailor weaving / leaning EXTREMELY left to right, as they walk. Oh, and not very fast at all.
Eagles are feeding well along the Missouri River and other waters, especially where receding flooding trapped a lot of fish. One swooped over my vehicle pursuing a hapless pigeon for lunch; not a fair fight...
