Very sorry about the dog’s being poorly. Reminds me of when Ash ate a whole pork shoulder.
Frank, Kathleen, and Tom have arrived. The beach trip will get going in the next 15 minutes or so, and Tom will get on his remote class. Yesterday he had hydrology and Structural Geology, so today will be something different.
I’m so sorry about the puppy. They’re always so embarrassed when they have accidents.
Good luck today!
Evening! After nap (and the rest of Tom’s lectures) we went to the State Park. We climbed the lighthouse. It was extremely windy. I’m not concerned about heights, but I always worry about losing my glasses!
Then we did a marsh boardwalk walk, then back to the ocean side of the island. We saw some dolphins.
Walked in the maritime forest, where people other than me were plagued by mosquitoes. (”That’s where the tiny Moslems go,” said Tom.)
Then we went out to the end of the island where it’s being eaten by the ocean. Very fine erosion. I have pictures. “If Elen and Sally were here, they’d be climbing the trees,” I said; that is, the uprooted trees offshore being covered with sand. Then Tom climbed a tree. I’m sure he took a picture to show Elen.
I have a blister on the bottom of a toe. Annoying.
This is what you need, since you camp and hike a lot!

Wow. That sounds like so much fun! I forgot to ask about your return, but I think I won’t.
Of course, I’m up in the night. It’s that worry thing that I really do have to conquer. Shutting off my mind has become a real challenge, these days.
I’m about half way through with the shawl, but now I’m wishing I would have gotten a sport weight, rather than a worsted weight. Yarn like what you sent to me. That stuff if so beautiful! Anyway, It’s looking good, so I won’t worry about it. The first time I make a project should be like my first pancake. If it doesn’t turn out right, I should be able to throw it out and start over.
The outline of the letter to USDA management company has been trying to form in my head. I hate that. I wanted so much to sleep mostly straight through, tonight. But I’m determined to beat this insomnia thing.
Good morning.
Well, I got the rough draft of the letter done, but I think I need to drop a size on the font face because there is no room for correction.
Anyway, I’m off to the showers. Since you’re on vacation, and this is time-critical, I’ll muddle through without help from my Favorite Editor. ;o]
It was so difficult to get out of bed...
If you copy your text into an email, I can read it and reply.
And good morning. I covered the clock in the bedroom, so I didn’t know what time it was until I got to the kitchen to turn the coffee on.
Now that I know you’re up, I’ll text you some pictures.
I didn’t want to bother you, but stand by.
Happy Hump Day everyone.
The puppy had another episode last night, but it was better contained. I hope she gets through whatever is upsetting her system soon.
I set the alarm again last night because I just can’t keep going the way I’m going. I’ll keep setting it until I can sleep most of the night again, however long that takes.
My clock doesn’t show the colors unless I hit the bar, then it blasts bright blue into the room. I try not to hit it.
Today is library day, and I also have to pick up a prescription.
Happy Hmpf Day, ArGee.
I’m sorry about the problems the puppy is having. It must be very disturbing for her.
Oddly, she was wagging her tail when I looked at her at a little before 3 this morning. She had stepped in her mess so, although the mess itself was on a pad, her entire area had to be cleaned.
Fortunately I was able to clean her paw and get her out before anything else had to be done. So we were still up for an hour but there was no left-over rug cleaning for today.
She was probably wagging her tail because she was relieved that you were going to rescue her and get her cleaned up. Poor little thing.
Never a dull moment when you have a new puppy, eh? :o]
Oh, sure there are.
During the day when there’s no problem with excitement.
Ah. Yes. Daytime hours. No excitement whatsoever. As long as one has puppy-proofed the house! ;o]
Nice morning on the beach. I found a hermit crab.
Seems my Favorite Son found a hermit crab in a tide pool on the beach south of Santa Cruz, back when he was a very short person. I’d never heard of them, but he knew almost all there was to know about them!
And now, I have some errands to run.
I saw one of those change shells once. Talk about a surprised face. I had no idea their bodies were so long and snake-y.
I’ve never once wondered about what the rest of a hermit crab looks like!
Well, I’ve never wondered what the rest of a hermit crab looked like, either! Some things are just not all that important. ;o]
Good morning.
I hope Puppy had a good night and the rest of the ArGee contingent were able to sleep with only one eye and one ear open!
Last night, I actually slept, but I’m very glad I set my alarm, because I probably would have slept another hour or two. Unngh.
The two letters in question will be on their ways to Arkansas cities today, and I’m relieved. I’ll hear something soon, from one of them, regardless of any personal feelings.
Now I need to go wash my face off and comb my head out.
I had been having trouble with the printer, but once again, all it took was cleaning the print heads. I had to do it a couple of times, but it’s worth it!
