Interesting member of the mujahakitteh this morning.
Happy Wednesday, everyone. I cheated death this weekend multiple times. Plus, I woke up every morning.
w00t!
The ones Elen requested recently were “Harrow County.” She texted photos to me, and Tom ordered them.
Unnngh, I say. But at least we’ve all cheated death and made it to another Wednesday.
It’s very good to see you again, ArGee!
And you as well, SG. I hope you’re feeling better.
I certainly cheated death yesterday, and I guess Northern Utah had some Cat 3 winds. Yes, as in hurricane Cat 3.
It’s nice being able to wake up every morning! I’m so glad you did.
How is the puppy doing, now? It seems to be a long time since we’ve had any report of her.
Comic books are not the same comic books we read when I was growing up. There was a little dry goods store in the town we grew up in (not the one with the soda fountain!) that sold comic books, and if we brought them back in good condition, we were paid 5¢ for each. What a bonus!
Of course, I remember Pogo, Li’l Abner, Lulu, and in later years, Calvin & Hobbes and the ever awesome Mother Goose and Grimm. There are others, of course. But there was a day when comics were funny.
The printer isn’t printing black, now, although its doing better than it was yesterday. I can only think it was because some dust got blown into the thing from the wind storm we had and the fact that the door was open. I’ve cleaned the print heads and nozzles and will do it again today to see if it improves.
The alternative is to contact Epson and see what they recommend.
Technologies. Sigh.
Turns out Pat isn’t working today, so he’ll get extra Driving Adventures.
I cleaned the print heads and nozzles again, and will do it as many times as I need to in order to get the job done. :o] Each test print looks better than the last, so there is that.
So how long before Pat can actually apply for his license? I’m sure you told me, but I’ve slept since then. Is the yoga still being practiced by the other Parental Unit?
The bare floors have been swept and next is to vacuum the rug and the bedroom floor (”carpet” is a misnomer) and then I can go to the post office and the library and that will be my day.
Since I’ve switched from gravel paper to wood shavings for the birds, (Camilla is a “chewer” and she was eating the gravel paper so I need to get her a rope toy) cleaning the cages is a messier job. CFIDS causes muscle spasms and since they’re unpredictable, there are often spills of shavings and other things, wherever I’m working.
Ninety days from the date he got his permit, whenever that was. Mid-August?
Cheated Death Again: I Haven’t Bought the Farm Yet!
YAY!! Maybe one of the younger offspring can learn from a sibling and spare you a few gray hairs. (I almost typed “heirs!”)
Back from the library and post office. Downton Abbey didn’t make it into the mix, but I got season 23 of Midsomer. It’s just been such a long time since I watched one.
I was late getting out as I was delayed by a vacuum snag. Literally. The brushes snagged a strand of yarn before I could grab it (in a place I couldn’t see well) and I spent a good 25 minutes taking the brush out of the vacuum and cutting all the hair that has been picked up since I got the darn thing. Why I didn’t think to check it sooner is beyond me, but I won’t wait so long to check again. That was a job for Supermom, and it’s for sure my finger joints will be talking to me in the morning.
I’ve had that happen with the vacuum!
It’s raining here. I’ll wait for it to let up before going to Walmart, which will not be a Pat Driving Event because I don’t feel up to it.
My nap, relocated to the boys’ room, was a failure due to a pervasive odor of Unwashed Boy (sheets and blankets have been removed to the laundry) and banging around from Frank and Kathleen.
They will get Maths. I’m listening to Jonah Goldberg interviewing a guy with a darling little British accent, on the topic of Socialism. After Walmart, I think I’ll need more British accents ... maybe Professor Allitt’s travel lectures, although I’m getting near the end of those.
My Driving Event was met with a surprise. A branch (about 5” thick) from a tree not near by, was by the left rear quarter panel and since it wasn’t a mulberry branch, I can only think it was broken off from one of the other trees and placed on the dumpster. Said dumpster is about 6’ from my truck, and I’m thinking the heavy wind blew it off the stack of garbage and it landed too close for comfort. If it had hit the truck, it wouldn’t have caused much damage because the vehicle has roll bars in it to reinforce the top.
I’m so sorry about your nap! I hate when that happens!
There was a meme on FB yesterday about how British TV shows have spoiled us, what with the darling little British accents. Days like that, I wish you were on FB!
The rugs have been vacuumed, and next time I pull the machine out, I’ll have to empty it because it’s about half full, now. So that means that either that’s a very good vacuum, or I’m a very dirty person!
Well, das poopy is 21 weeks old today and 32 lbs (as she went to the vet today). When we brought her home 13 weeks ago she was 8 lbs. We’re expecting her to top out around 50.
She is starting to agree with us more (our version of being well behaved). She’s even sitting quietly while we have Saturday evening time with our daughter.
I’m not going to tell you how many times she has cheated death. the SPCA might not take kindly to the idea. She’s just very lucky she’s so cute.
Bloom County!
Don’t rush. The price keeps falling.
Heh, good one. I’m glad to hear the puppy is developing successfully. I you think it’s stressful now, wait until she starts driving ...
BT DT Got the insurance premiums.
Or, had them. The kids pay their own now.
Pat won’t need insurance until he gets his real license in, I guess, November, and by then he’ll have been diligently earning for a couple of months, if all goes well. We will charge him a percentage of his insurance bill relative to how much time he puts in as a Transportation Asset for the Organization.
It’s been nice not paying insurance for a youth driver for several months.
Just wish that I could find some way out of this horrid state for my family and I.
I wish I had something to offer other than sympathy!
Maybe you could evaluate places you would prefer to live, and then call the state (county, city) employment or workforce development office and see if they might have suggestions? There are lots of jobs out there: the fact that Pat was hired in ten days is proof!
Of course, he’s not supporting a family (or even himself), but I’ll bet there are better jobs with vacancies, too.
