There’s a really funny Youtube about explaining the pandemic to my younger self. Worth a watch.
I’ve actually wished my mom were alive so I could ask her if she could still slap me into next year.
Link?
Cheated Death Again: The Other Library
Patrick has been deposited at his Place of Work, the Walmart, and Vlad will walk home after shopping.
I feel almost as if I also Cheated Death Again, especially when I recall Patrick’s large green eyes staring right through everyone and everything. And his tendency to wander.
You’re very brave!
The library here has been visited with at stop at the Sinclair for two chicken strips and some money from the ATM. Because I didn’t want to drive all the way to Walmart so close to everyone’s payday. *shudder*
No wonder I’m depressed.
Not always good to look up YouTubes during work hours, but here you go.

Don’t you cheat death every morning when you wake up?
Still funny.
Not as obviously.
I had a nap with Jake.
Grilling meats with my Tom skills and listening to some of the back catalog of “Myths and Legends.”
Patrick doesn’t think he’s immune to the laws of physics, unlike some of his siblings, so teaching him to drive hasn’t been quite as awful as it could be.
(’Face gives a large sigh of relief!)
Give us teh dead fishies!
Daddy and his boy mean bidness!
Good morning.
I was hoping I’d feel up to working on the USPS form but time is slipping away, and I don’t feel any better today than I did yesterday.
I’m reading a (very thin) book on the general outline of the Dead Sea Scrolls, which is probably what I needed to read to make the whole thing come together.
Though the entire Bible talks of Christ’s coming, a lot of the books on specific prophecy about it have been removed. The Dead Sea Scrolls shed some very interesting light on those, and I’m sure the Nag Hamadi Texts will add more. All in all, I’m very glad that I decided to read all the books available to me on the subject.
(Deep discussions should probably be held off until later in the day...)
Anyway, I still need to go wash my face off and comb my head out.
There are small crystals growing in the bottom of the Admiral Fitzgerald’s but the instructions don’t say exactly what they mean. The barometer hasn’t changed, so...
(Allergies are the culprit at the moment. Maybe yesterday, as well.)
And my list for the coming (eventual) stimulus check keeps evolving and changing. Things at the top keep being moved farther down the list in favor of something that needed doing several years ago. One thing is sure: I would need two checks to cover what’s there, now.
Good morning. It’s starting off to be One of Those Days, but perhaps things will get better.
Things are not getting better so far. I’m going to have to turn on “Myths and Legends” for my nerves.
There's a lot of that going around. It's even like that here. So for my next trick, I'm having a small cup of ice cream with chocolate sauce for my Second Breakfast.
I usually take a morphine right about now, and the Ice-Cream-For-Second-Breakfast is perfect. :o])
Next on the docket is to go get my knee x-rayed and put some gas in the tank on the way.
Oy, good luck. I just got a request to do a funeral tomorrow evening for a girl who died in a car accident.
On the good news side, Patrick said his shift supervisor praised his work last night, and added, “I don’t usually say things like this to a new employee.”
Well. This is the news in my neck of the woods:
Favorite Son went to head out for the day’s handyman job and found both tires on the passenger side flat.
Favorite Daughter woke up at 0430 and complained loudly and long.
Their Favorite Ma, on the other hand, heard and enormous “WHOMP!” while gathering up her things (doctor’s orders, sunglasses, phone) and by the time she got out to SR 9 (1-1/2 short blocks) she was met with police vehicles with all lights going. As she went to make the right turn (following the signals of officers on the scene) she saw a small white car with 3/4 of the hood squashed into the pavement, and a very large delivery truck pulled over to the curb.
To quote my Favorite Son’s caption under the pic of the flat tires on my FB feed, “Is this Monday?”
And of course, my right leg is now hurting, even though there were only three images taken.
The really strange thing is that, even though I’ve been to this lab at least three times since I moved here, and the orders were under my current name, the gal had to have multiple types of ID verification because, according to her, my last name in the computer was my married name, which hasn’t been used since 1989, when my maiden name was legally restored to me by the judge in St George!!
Two Mondays this week.
As my mother would say about Patrick, “There ain’t no flies on that kid!”
Obviously, Patrick is exceptional!
