The BBQ ribs smell so good!! I’ll need to put some rice on, soon.
I have no clue when the Kids will get here, but I sure hope its before bedtime!
Very pleased for your meat success!
Around here, I’m encouraging the consumption of leftovers, while another party keeps buying or making new stuff. Sigh.
Some things are just better as leftovers. In fact, I like leftovers, but there were very few when my kids were growing up. Surprisingly, there were even less after they left home, and it seems I still cooked the same amount. Ohwell. No sense pondering the imponderable!
The rice is in the microwave, but it’s been so long since I used anything but the rice cooker that I don’t know how this will turn out. I looked for some chicken stock, but the only can I had was way past the “pull date,” so I just used some bouillon powder to flavor the water. Been a while since I used that, too!
One thing is clear and that’s that I’ll have to go through the pantry and check the dates on everything in there.
Rice is done to perfection! I’ve used the rice cooker for the last four or five years, and there is always a spot that is burned. Not this time! Just like I like it! So the ribs will be ready in about two hours, and life is good.
I checked and it’s a nine-hour drive from Denver to here (VERY hilly, twisty drive) so I expect them around 1400. I hope.
Brilliant! I hope everything works out just as planned.
Time to get organized for church. I hear it’s hot out there!
I hope it all works out, too. I put another coat of Old English and got a sliver, but that’s probably because this is Sunday... ;o]
I’ll let you know how the rice and ribs are!
Looking forward to hearing about your success!
I have to lie down with Jake now. It’s a ritual.
The meal turned out very well, thanks. Tasty!
How was church?
Did you say how the funeral service was received by the family?
I got thrown a curve this morning, as the meetings were only split in two instead of three. So I was busted. It will be another month before I can go again, but its OK.
I’m getting tired, but I’ve heard nothing from the Kids. Gonna be a long day, I think...
Church was fine, and so was the funeral on Thursday.
I wish they would get there so you could sleep!
I just sent a message via FB messenger, and told them to text me. I’ve had my pills and covered the birds and will head down the hallway in a few minutes. They may wait and go to Mesquite, first, then come back here in the AM. I just wish they were a little more aware of other people.
Like maybe a text to say, “We’re in Toejam Junction, but we’ll see you around 2392.” But I forgot who I was dealing with. (I’ll expound on that later.)
For now, g’nite!
Night to you!
They sent a text at about 1600+ saying they were still four hours out because they got a late start. Unngh.
I fell asleep around 1630, and woke up around 2000. Double Unngh. 2130 my eyelids finally slammed shut. I had set my alarm but woke up at 0115, and here I am. All I have to do now is get dressed, then sort clothes and head over to the laundry room.
They will be here in a day or two, early in the morning, to pick the stuff up. This has been such an inconvenience. My luck they will want to come tomorrow when I need to go to Walmart.
To add to it, Sharon blasted me for not being at church, then couldn’t understand why my sleep patterns should be messed up. Oh, woe is me.
Just give Sharon a shrug. She has demonstrated, I think, that she just doesn’t get stuff.
I need to leave for camp before 8:00.
Thank you. Good to see you.
Thank you.
Good morning. Monday requires all the kittens!
I hope you’re well today.
What a wonderful batch of tiny floofs and the mama and daddy! Fit for a Monday!
Good morning.
The laundry is done, but I went through my puzzle book, so I’ll have to get a new one tomorrow.
My mouse is dying. I have to replace batteries about once a month, now, and when I first got it, the batteries lasted six months or longer.
The sleep shirts still need to be hung up and the bed has to be made but they can wait for a while.
I’ve seen someone’s cat a couple of mornings this week, and though it isn’t skittish, it isn’t friendly, either. It will sit or crouch and watch me, rather than run off. Poor thing. It may be prey, if someone isn’t careful. We have some fairly large birds around here, and a cat is as good as a hare.
Some days, Sharon just makes my Tired ache. (I had a hard time spelling that word, so I guess you know how my brain is working.)
There are people in my life who make my Tired Ache, too.
I’m glad you got your wash done and all. I have about half an hour before I have to leave for camp. It’s not extremely hot yet, but it will get there.
