“Was it Corovid-19? I suspect it was. We’ll never know.”
There are several ways to find out, not all of them pleasant.
But in time, you’ll be able to get checked for antibodies of you really need to know.
The odds of having contracted CCP-19 in December are pretty tiny. Not impossible. But tiny.
The first case in Wuhan was diagnosed November 17. By the end of November there ought to have been around 60 cases. Some got on boats, planes, most stayed in Wuhan. Then there is the time for a few incubation periods and that puts us in mid December. Very unlikely that any large number of people were spreading it by mid December in the US.
Or, the other scenario, it was here way earlier. In that case, I’m throwing in my cards, declaring it was actually a deliberately deployed bioweapon and pushing for retaliation.
I doubt New York City would agree with you....
At our hospital you wouldn’t see lot of people going in and out at this point in the spread....they cancelled unnecessary surgeries, lab work etc.etc. ...All entrances to the Hospital are closed except the One Lobby and Emergency.
Testing is being done at a drive thru facility....not in the Hospital...and just began last week. We have four confirmed cases in less than a week.
I went to a large Physicains buiding Wed. for shots.... Nobody is kept waiting in the waiting room ( usually full) but are excorted immediately to an exam room. They waste no time getting people in and out. I was there ten minutes and on my way out.and no chit-chatting as the nurses were very focused and serious on whatever proceedures they were taught to get people in and out.
I’d say our area is ‘ready’ , but no doubt these next weeks are going to show if these preventive measures have worked or not.
1 out of 38 people in the U.S. live in NYC. Over 2,000 + people per sq mile pop density. Of course theyre going to have higher numbers. Most of the rest of the country is no where near and should not be under the same restrictions.
Those measures (cancel non-elective surgeries and drive thru testing) are in place most of the country.
Unless you’re inside the hospital you won’t know how busy they are as hosptials have no visiting hours and have streamlined everything for whatever is now or ahead.
Once you arrive as a patient you’re in their care on your own....if you take someone to the ER you cannot stay or go in with them.
Yeah, it’s not a game or a hoax. It’s real. I hope it’s not “more real” than what we have been told, but I’m not buying bridges in Brooklyn today, either.
I wish I could go out and DO SOMETHING to solve the problem, but the most helpful thing I can do is sit tight in my home and wait. If I didn’t have vulnerable people in the house I’d at least go work for Amazon or something to keep the supply chain rolling, but that’s a no-go. Sigh. Maybe I can talk a few people here into some sense. Best I can do.
FD/EMS/Ambulance. We have not run a -known- case yet as of when I left last shift.
I do believe CV has been out there since before the first of the year. It would explain some of what we have seen and experienced. I work less than a 30 minute drive from DFW Airport TX.
The panic has managed to weed out most of the “my arm has been hurting for 2 weeks and I must go to the hospital by ambulance even though it is 0230” type calls.
One other thing...Hospitals have closed down any visitations so the lots aren’t going to show a lot of activity. Unless you go inside you won’t know what’s going on inside.
Had the same thing back in January. Felt like crap for a day then developed a dry cough that was very deep seated in my chest. The coughing got better but I can still feel it deep in my lungs when I have a regular cough. Maybe that is the lung damage they’re talking about?
all of our guesses, stats, anecdotes, stories, graphs, lists, etc are all dependent on uniform reporting from all entities be that good bad or indifferent....
just because somebody died, it doesn't mean WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE....
I think you called anyone who disagrees with you “traitors and murderers”....
South Texas.
County south of here has a few(Matagorda).
We believe a large wave of CCP-19 has passed through this part of Texas and Houston between mid-November and end of January as the symptoms all matched but folks would get test for flu and it didn’t show on normal tests. Co-workers had been back and forth to China ALL YEAR up until the end of December 2019. Had my first illness in 10 years(flu symptoms, throat on fire for 2 weeks, coughing for 3 weeks). About 60% of our office had similar. Doc said it was viral, no flu test b/c only slight fever was had but I take 8 to 10 grams of Vit C daily for years even now. A Dr. Cheng(youtube) has indicated that high dose Vit C can be a preventative for some folks. Hospitals in our area are not flooded locally, they’re all waiting with empty beds for the “massive spike” predicted by the “EXPERTS” and MSM.
WAITING for the antibody test as I’ll get it to verify if I had CCP-19 or not.
NOTE: the more folks that test and have antibodies, the larger the denominator gets and the lower the death rate gets. Put another way, the longer the are no antibody tests the longer the death rate is falsely elevated from reality.
Wife and I are both high risk, wife more so. We are not invincible youngsters with SUPERMAN or SUPERWOMAN on our chests.
I cant believe he wont answer that.
Friend in top management for bigger hospital here talked with me about securing more vents, doing more with what they have.
Ordering more test kits, problems with fda approval and error rate.
Planning to segregate corona treatment from main hospital completely. That they consider the scenerio of a significant percent of their staff getting infected.
The surprising part of the discussion to me was hearing that while the doctors were stepping up to the task, a lot of nurses were giving pushback, evading, saying this isn’t what they signed up for, etc.. That while they’re not all like that, it was a big enough percent to be a really major problem and worry as things heat up. That some may just bail and go home.
I didn’t get a sense from him of whether we are underestimating or underestimating the problem, only that they are contingency planning for worse scenerios and worried about vent and testing limits.
He said he wondered why India wasn’t more of a mess, that maybe it’s a sign heat/moisture hampers transmission and that this thing might fade off with the weather. I don’t know if that’s just his thinking or if others in management are thinking similarly.
“you speak out of both sides of your mouth.. just because somebody died, it doesn’t mean WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE....”
When did I say that?
Stop with the misrepresentations of what I’ve said.
If you disagree with my stats or logic, refute it. If you can’t refute it, accept it.
“I think you called anyone who disagrees with you traitors and murderers....”
If you deliberately put other people’s lives at risk, knowing of the threat, and even state an intention to infect others knowing it could kill them, or throw a whole class of people out as garbage that should die, what do you call it? If you do that to your fellow citizens in a time of national emergency, when the President himself has said multiple times that we are at war and we are on a war footing, what do you call that?
It isn’t all the FluBros, either. But some are more casual in their disregard for the lives of others.
But it isn’t all people that disagree with me - that’s a generalization comparable to the one that you objected to me making, except it is not based in fact. There are plenty of people here that disagree with me on many topics. That doesn’t make them traitors or murderers.
So, again, stop misrepresenting what I said. You tried to use the abortion card - again - to discredit me, when this has nothing to do with abortion. Now you are lying about what I’ve said - again - for the same end. How about sticking to the topic and refuting my arguments?
DP deaths now at 12. Two more on the boat, one Canadian brought home from the boat. DCR is 1.7%.
Looks like the JHU app can’t handle as many entries as they have, or their data entry guy just stopped in the middle. I suspect the former as some of the data that would have been there and unchanged is now missing - truncated in the display.
It’s still not the flu.
He’s in Michigan according to his flag.
You wear a seat belt just in case of a crash, not because you want to be in one.
Let’s hope these precautions are not needed in any more places than they already have been.
If you are down near the border, prepare for the wave of illegals coming for your health care. Hopefully the border is being quietly guarded.
