Also, worldometers numbers have not changed since yesterday; at all.

Actually, they have, just not by very much. I've noticed more activity later in the day.

Seen on TheDonald.win: "Let me get this straight. If you rob a store in Philly, there's no jail time... But if you operate a store in Philly after 8pm there's ... jail time? Also is that a man on the right?"

Well, just to correct one point...this thing lives well in hot and humid climates. See Singapore and Manila.

Your error is to assume this is an influenza virus. I understand that because so many politicians and others have compared it to the flu. They are ignorant. This is a completely different “kind” of virus.

And...not to confuse the point, the Spanish flu had its most significant outbreak on September 5th on a 5,000 acre bog called Camp Devens. Hot and humid.

So, dismiss this and the rest of the concerns you wish to ignore. I don’t care. You are in Alabama. I am thousands of miles away.

But please take a few minutes to read up what you are so easily dismissing. Knowing a few facts makes your speeches sound a little more accurate than your current made up, Rush regurgitated tripe.

Thanks. Just usually see a dramatic, eye popping change the next morning. Actually it is great to not see it go up but I know it will later.

Comment: I believe that one reason there are so few recoveries listed is that it takes a LONG time for these cases to resolve. According to the Lancet study, median duration of illness is 20 days, but has lasted as long as 37 days. https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(20)30566-3/fulltext

H1N1 was the Spanish flu. Believe it or not, there is significant herd immunity to that virus. It never went away. It merely shifted a little bit.

This is called a novel virus because it is a brand new virus and there is no herd immunity to this. None at all.

You may go ahead and continue to make apples and oranges comparisons if you wish. But at least understand why they are not even close to being relevant.

The state’s known caseload ballooned to 432 as Gov. Ron DeSantis provided new insight into the severity of the disease, COVID-19, saying health workers knew of at least 90 infected people who required hospitalization. As of Thursday morning, he said, that was nearly a quarter of the cases tied to Florida. Nine Floridians have died, the latest a person from Duval County.

Fifty-four cases are near Tampa Bay. Hernando County announced its first four positive tests Thursday and local leaders declared a state of emergency.

Test kits is not the only constraint—lab supplies may be an issue as well:

Gov. Charlie Baker (R) of Massachusetts. He said his state was following the President’s call to go out and buy needed equipment without waiting for the feds.

But then his state found the feds were out bidding them for those same materials.

https://twitter.com/jamiedupree/status/1240998058000818177

This happens in the corporate world from time to time.

The President of the corporation will tell shareholders that “We will produce a million widgets next month.” But, what the President does not know is that in order to produce widgets, the factory requires several different supplies which are currently low in stock. Then, when the factory fails to produce the quota of widgets everybody starts pointing fingers at everyone else.

When I was a manager (in my younger days) I always walked the factory floor and talked to the workers about issues, particularly supply and other constraints they were dealing with on a day to day basis.

At the end of the day, you cannot count on paper-pushing middle managers to have a clue what is happening on the ground in the real world.

My guess is they started seeing the plumes coming up from the crematorium in Wuhan. It is my guess we had some folks around Northern VA and MD watching via satellite as the vans pulled up and piled up bodies.

There were stories and videos all out of China at the time. The flu bro’s were all focused on impeachment. This was around the time there was a shift in the votes. I wonder why this was? Could it have been that they saw something coming!

I know I started shorting the markets in early January. This is a true black swan...that I’d people were paying attention they would have seen it coming from a mile away.

But the American people don’t think of anything but what CNN and Fox plop in your face.

Just curious...are you aware of Virus X which is ravaging Africa right now? It’s not CV. But, it’s not on Fox and Friends or Rush...so most flubros are not even aware of it.

I cannot wait for the two diseases to combine. That would be a problem.

Vitamin D deficiency contributes directly to the acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)

Conclusions Vitamin D deficiency is common in people who develop ARDS. This deficiency of vitamin D appears to contribute to the development of the condition, and approaches to correct vitamin D deficiency in patients at risk of ARDS should be developed.

Nah, lies.

Rumors of 40K infected in the east. Which would make sense as the borders there are somewhat porous with a lot of Chinese workers.

“Rumors of 40K infected in the east.”

“We estimate the number of COVID-19 cases from newly reported deaths in a population without previous reports. Our results suggest that by the time a single death occurs, hundreds to thousands of cases are likely to be present in that population. “
