We will know in approximately 8 days...
We were forewarned, but we didn’t do anything about getting people tested in a timely manner. As such, we still don’t really know who has it, and who doesn’t. This causes a myriad of problems. And, it’s still spreading. And, because of the lack of testing, you’re going to have those infected people walking around infecting everybody else. And, some of these will be those same people who think that taking a handful of vitamins and howling at the moon will keep them from getting the flu, and that this virus is no different.
This is a good technique to follow always.
When I was a medical student, my father-in-law, a practicing physician, gave me this tip: Develop the habit of having your hand "tingle" when you have touched something contaminated or potentially contaminated. It will continue to tingle, and you will not touch anything with it, until you wash it, even though you might forget what you touched.
Also working in a hospital, I learned the advisability of frequent hand washing with soap.
One day in medical school, the professor did this: He dusted each student's hands with a certain powder and told us not to touch ourselves. Then after class, he came around with an ultraviolet light. The powder was fluorescent. It revealed where the medical students had touched. Despite having been told not to touch themselves, every one of us had fluorescent powder around the nose, mouth, and genitals. It is very difficult not to touch these areas; however I have found that the "tingle" of the contaminated hand can prevent it.
Another thing (I hate to get personal, but I do want to make the point): It is a good habit to shower after every defecation whenever possible. It doesn't take long. There is a shower near the toilet in almost every American home. Once the habit's formed, it's easy to maintain.
Someone needs to explain how China with over a billion people, where this started in about November, has had a grand total of 80,000 cases (64,000 now recovered) and about 3,000 deaths. And their cases are way down now.
But we are supposed to have 500,000 cases?
How does that work?
And also what is on our side is that with the recent coming of day light savings time and in a few days spring, the warmer weather will help to if not rid it, reduce this virus.
Consider that the Pentagon has halted all domestic travel of service members, employees, and servicemember families. That should give folks some pause and considering what they should do. Unless you dont trust the military to protect its own. The White House is now testing everybody for temperature, which is an early step that the Chinese and others did, we seem to be in a catch-up mode, so when, and if, it hits, were going to be behind the curve still. Theres no excuse for not taking more preventative actions now, weve seen what happened in other countries, were not immune from getting sick,And relying on our better health care, is not going to work if there are too many people to care for her at any given time.
In a few months we will look back on this as one huge overreaction. How many people have the flu right now? Considerably more than Coronavirus.
I keep very good track of the spread of the Coronavirus in the U.S. I use the Wikipedia as my source and their numbers are pretty much in sync with the news reports.
At this time the growth rate of the infected population in the U.S. is running at 32% PER DAY.
That is a fast enough rate to infect the total population if it should continue. That wont happen of course for two reasons:
1. As the size of the non-infected population decreases there is not enough candidates for infection to keep up a rate that high. It must decline and will do so naturally. But to get to that point requires the infection of a large percentage of the population. And a large number of deaths.
2. As the Trump restrictions begin to take effect there will be incremental reductions in that 32%. I watch that number like a hawk. If it starts to really decline starting in a week or so we should see the downward trend in the infection rate. How low will it go? Nobody knows.
There is no doubt the leftist mainstream media is hyping COVID-19’s threat out of proportion to make Trump look bad. A side effect of this strategy is that the resulting measures will curb the spread of COVID-19, and make the leftist MSM look like idiots.
Two outcomes are certain. If COVID-19’S outcome is mild the MSM will say that Trump over-reacted. If COVID-119’s outcome is more severe the MSM will say that Trump under-reacted.
AND.... we don’t eat Bat$hit soup!
I don’t think we’ll beat it until we have a vaccine. Under this president, though, I think that changes that were long overdue to our pandemic response procedures will finally be made.
I’m also hoping that as sh*t gets real the ranks of the Americans up Xi’s butt will begin to thin. We need our pharma manufacturing back.
Hopefully the necessity of working and schooling from home will also start to break down over reliance on certain housing markets that are currently overburdened.
Chicoms did their best not to warn their people
American media say we all are going to die from it.
Some know how to handle the flu.
It does seem though that a lot of people here on freerepublic.com seem to want to promote anxiety and fear as some sort of ultimate virtue throughout all this.
That is really annoying and, it makes me want to slap them upside the head.
Its just something that seems to be a very common part of our snowflake culture of this day.
Emote, emote, emote.
