Could retire and live on a grand scale - like royalty - if I had a penny for every time someone claimed a vaccine or cure. Last week the “Magic Jews” (Israel’s going to cure it!) was the big thing, for example. Tons of cure claims online.

Still we are still doing things based on 50 year old rules. The process could sped up by at 50% and still be safe using modern day supercomputer AI models and new streamlined testing. It’s likely takes months just to process the paperwork.

If it was a bioweapon, then it is logical to think that a vaccine would have been created along with the bioweapon.

So if the Chinese magically produce a vaccine six months before the most optimistic estimates for finding one, I think that would lend some credence to the bioweapon hypothesis.

One, a vaccine candidate is not likely to be viable for a year. You have to test it. Then you need to make a boat load of the stuff. Then you need to get it to everyone. That is a year at the earliest.

Since you didn't qualify that, let me help you out since I know you don't want to create any FUD. Gileads drug remdesivir is being used as part of phase III testing. So safety and efficacy is know in a smaller controlled group. Phase III will break out into multiple test sites in much larger scale of patients. Sites are in Japan and China. Also the National Institute of health is using the drug in limited use in a Nebraska Medical facility. I believe the drug was created for a similar virus, not specifically for Corona.

Forty-five people will be enrolled in the preliminary safety trial of the new vaccine.

Researchers in Seattle have begun recruiting healthy volunteers to participate in a clinical trial for an experimental COVID-19 vaccine, according to news reports.

The vaccine, developed by the biotechnology company Moderna Therapeutics, was initially sent to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) in Maryland on Feb. 24, according to The Wall Street Journal. The agency anticipates launching a clinical trial by the end of April and will sponsor the Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute to conduct the testing, NIAID Director Anthony Fauci told The Wall Street Journal.

Forty-five healthy volunteers between the ages of 18 and 55 will be enrolled in the initial trial, which aims to determine whether the vaccine triggers an immune response, and whether the given dose causes adverse side effects, according to a description on ClinicalTrials.gov.

I would assess Covid-19 as an early-stage research experiment that escaped from the lab, rather than a finished bioweapon.

Add in some bureaucratic infighting, high-stakes finger-pointing, self-deception, and then panic, and here we are today. With all the propaganda and incentives for deception, the Chinese can no longer determine what is loose in their country.

The Chinese do not have a vaccine, nor do they have effective cures. Nor will they develop any. It will be up to Western nations to clean up this mess.
