That’s not the figure from the WHO report.

Except if you were interested in facts instead of histronics you would know that the young are not the ones dying.

Alaska Airlines. They do offer a refund if you’ve made your reservation after Feb 27th, but I made it before that. I can’t figure out how they decided on that particular date.

I’ve only seen a report of what I’ve rereported here. I have not seen updates as to the breakdown report of the shares of death by age group.

While not zero, the odds of a 20 year old dying of this bug, so far, is 0.2%, or 1 in 500. That’s for the cases bad enough to require hospitalization. It could be far lower, for all we know. There are a significant number of people who get the bug but don’t have symptoms bad enough to require the attention of a medical professional (i.e. pneumonia).

You say that like it was a bad thing. The younger generation could do better but it’s sure they can’t do any worse. When Reagan made his “one generation away” speech,he wasn’t talking about the future.

Really, for them the direct risk isn’t a lot. They’ll just infect a lot of others who will die.

Check the Alaska Airlines Website. They explain the Cabin Air recycling very well.

We all laughed at my Wife because she would always use Hand Sanitizer after holding a Menu when we went out to eat. She read that those Menus are covered in Germs.

If she were in charge, the Coronavirus wouldn’t have been a problem. LOL

Oh yeah, don’t touch the TV Remote in your Hotel Room either.

‘As much as the crazy panic pushers want to believe otherwise, a young person in normal health is not going to become a Darwin Award winner for going on a trip. The real concern with such a decision is getting it and spreading it to others.’

They don’t GIVE A SH*T or THINK about OTHERS!

Typical selfish millennials.

They know they are not going to die and they don’t care about the others they may infect to might die.

This is the time for those that think rationally to travel domestically on the cheap, while the cowardly hide in fear like frightened children.

Heck yes. There are some good bargains now, and probably going to get better over the next few weeks. Hawaii here I come.

Great, so you can fly cheap, then get there and all the restaurants are closed and then they quarantine you on your return flight.

Here is what I have learned:

Why are children ‘missing’ from coronavirus outbreak cases?
By Stephanie Pappas - Live Science Contributor February 10, 2020

So far, it seems that youth protects against the worst effects of 2019-nCoV.

The outbreak of a new coronavirus in China has killed more than 900 people, but one group has escaped with minimal damage: children.

Youth can certainly contract the virus. Among the infected are at least two newborns, according to Chinese health officials. But few children are among those sick enough to be diagnosed with the coronavirus, according to an article published Feb. 5 in the Journal of the American Medical Association. According to the data analyzed in that article — and numbers are changing quickly as the outbreak evolves — the median age of patients skews older, between 49 and 56 years old.

It’s not entirely clear why children seem to be escaping the worst effects of the virus, dubbed 2019-nCoV. But a similar pattern holds for many infectious diseases, from the familiar, such as chickenpox and measles, to the newly emerged, including severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS), doctors say.

Nobody should be flying unless it’s for business-related purposes. Which means mostly middle-aged folks flying. These ‘young’ are the most likely to be asymptomatic carriers and should be banned. They may not get seriously ill, but they sure can make others seriously ill. Back to the basements with these bat people. only half /s

99.7%, or something like that, of deaths are 80 years and older.
——
Not even close based upon figures out last week. It’s around 70% for 80+
It’s around 95% for 50+
