Actually, the company I worked for had a couple Chinese magnet suppliers, one in particular*, that were simply better than any other US supplier (except one US supplier that was maybe as good, but way overpriced even compared to other US suppliers.)

*This one did some of their own research into advanced formulations and processes. I was duly impressed.

This is not “typical”, but it does happen.

I’ve also seen very good original products from quality minded firms in China with Western management and a mix of Western & Chinese engineers: Not every creative idea came from the Westerners...

People have been wearing masks before this virus showed up. Maybe they are just noticed more now.

There are folks out there going they Chemo or have a low IGG and would be wearing it even if this virus wasn’t around.

I suppose if the factories are closed, it makes sense.

I have a bunch here along with the cheap type. I keep them around due to my medical issues. My son went to Asia and he took some with him. He handed a few out to our troops while on base in SK because they didn’t even have any.

I hit two HEB grocery stores this am for paper goods, and cleaning stuff. They had Clorox disinfecting wipes for $1.50 off at every register.

Some people did take notice of the ginormous stacked high cart of Bounty and Charmin. Probably cause I couldn’t see where I was going.

*** People have been wearing masks before this virus showed up. Maybe they are just noticed more now. ***

I have seen people at the grocery store wearing masks for years. I assumed they were chemo or some other immunocompromised folks, or just very polite shoppers who were protecting other shoppers from their colds.

Oddly, I always noticed more Asians wearing masks than Caucasians. This is in Central TX in a town of less than 30,000.

That’s me.. stage 4 metastatic cancer in the lungs. Was in hospital over this weekend due to shortness of breath and chest pain. In a oncology/pulmonary floor. Nurses had all heard of CV but none knew too much let alone had any bulletins on how to screen for it. They wore basic surgical masks and no other protective gear till I was cleared of the flu. Standard hand sanitizer on entrance and exit. Once I was cleared of the flu all masks came off. Never occurred to them that I could be negative for flu but positive for CV. Obviously not tested for CV.

I’ve noticed the disinfecting wipes on sale, at a LOT of places. I bought a few multipacks, a few weeks ago, to keep in each of our cars.

I bet you were a sight, with your cart piled up.

I did a Walmart curbside, and added extra Charmin....they were sold out of the mega packs I’d selected.

But...the nice Walmart lady gave me a tip....always allow subs, on the Charmin, and they’ll replace with larger quantity, for same price. Good to know.

“I’ll continue being careful but according to many being careful is not enough. If being careful and cautious isn’t enough, what can anyone do?”

I was just talking to a guy that was dismissing this. “The flu kills more people than this thing! And if it IS so bad, well what’ja’gonna do - you can’t stop it!”

I used the example of having fire insurance on your home, and hoping you never have to use it. Perhaps a better example would be car maintenance. Driving a car can be deadly - but there are ways to better your odds. Make sure the brakes work and the tires are decent. Buy a newer, safer car if possible. Etc.

But it is idiotic to drive around in a broken down car held together with duct tape, shimmys, etc. and then say “Well - what ya gonna do? Everybody dies some day!”

I’m so sorry for what you’re going thru. I can only imagine that mask made it that much more difficult to breath. How are you feeling now? I hope better?

I had a bone marrow transplant following getting into remission for AML leukemia. I never really bounced back. But, I’m still grateful.

I mostly wore the standard masks you referred to. Even when my counts were zero (had to take them there as part of the treatment ) staff still only wore the cheap masks. It wasn’t until I got home after the transplant that I learned about the N-95 masks and bought a bunch. But, they were never advised/recommended.

The best way to get our vitamin D is to spend 30 minutes a day in sunlight

I spend on the average 4 hours outside with my livestock nnd I drink a good gallon of VitD milk a week. So I was surprised when my internist told me that I was low on VitD. He said 30 minutes a day in the sun is true if you are a young'un. But as one gets older the ability to generate our own D diminishes. So it's recommended that older people take a VitD supplement, and is something to discuss with one's doctor as one ages.

Thank you for the post. Proctor and Gamble is a leftist activist ‘social justice’ virtue signaling identity-politics pandering corporation; pushing racism propaganda and the homosexual agenda, for example.

Knowing now that their products are full of Chinese chemicals (and the history of that) gives me another reason to continue my boycott of them :)
