Without change I would not watch or attend again.
So unless they put you in charge you’ll sit home and pout.
Man, I bet that has the bosses in a tizzy.
Way to tizzy up them bosses.
Man, I loves me some sarcasm, but here? You aint seen sarcasm like the kind that Freepers can spew. Well played, very well played.
Check out IMSA
What he said. But nothing beats a good F1 race. But they are rare.
I was with BFG back in the early-80s (Lola T616) and mid/late-80s (Porsche 962) IMSA GT-P Race Teams, and it was fun!
Never did make heads or tails out of what was going on down at the track. But otherwise I had a swell time going to those races.
they wanted drama, so they manufacture it, and they got it.
I was there...what a race...President Trump leading the racers, Jimmy Johnson being honored, the flyover and yes, the results was great... JH Nemechek coming in 11th in his first NASCAR cup race and yes, the Blue Oval with Rousch Yates Engines doing great. The race was safer than any weekend in any big city like Chicago.
That was the theory behind the old IROC series. Get a bunch of top drivers and put them in identical Camaros. Race em and see how they do. As we know it didn’t last.
The races I go to are ISMA rather than IMSA.
The supermodified is a unique class of cars and the best racing is in the pack not for the lead.
From what I recall,Earnhardt and Mark Martin did really well in those race.
Yes they did. Looking over the wiki page they first used a Porsche then Camaros followed by Dodge Avengers and Pontiac Firebirdss. Mostly NASCAR drivers won but some of the early years had Indy car drivers winning.
do you have to be an a$$hole to everyone?
I noticed that too
It’s as if they thought the race was boring so they constantly injected side bits about the cameras in the cars and other race trivia...
You think I should play favorites?
NASCAR has really struggled with the aero on these cars. I noticed when cars pulled up behind each other as the car behind approached it would make the lead car loose and then the trailing car would close the last couple of feet like slamming a door.
IMO, they need to get air going under the cars again and leave more to the drivers. Ryan Newman drove like his nickname suggests - Rocketman - and was within feet of winning and damn near got killed.
Do you see any parallels between Americans and the primative Romans who fed victims to the lions for sport. I cannot call racing in front of a blood-thirsty audience “sport”.
When they are flying wings, they are not race cars. The only answer is slowing them down to say 100mph, and that will never happen.
“Car of Tomorrow”. Restrictor plates. “Green gas”. Messing with the tires. Kowtowing to special interest groups starting with dropping the Winston Cup out of cowardice.
I love racing. 1/4 mile, sprints, dirt, NASCAR... heck... even the World Wrestling League of motor sports... Monster Trucks.
Anything where a human on a machine goes out and pushes the limits of physical endurance and technology.
NASCAR and Busch/Xfinity are shite. More about pretty logos, buzz words, and petulant owners/drivers. They’ve dumbed it down, focus grouped it, and made it “safe” for mass consumption.
Boring...
At least your endless campaign against blog pimping has a purpose.
This was just being mean for the sake of being mean.
He’s entitled to his opinion without your mocking it.
Point taken.
I had almost the same experience. Kept checking in and it was always in caution, a comercial or blathering commentators. I’ll check it again in another 20 years.
