Just checking some replies a few days late. I see we must both be old. I remember listening to Bill Monroe on the Grand Ole Opry on one of the first kind of radios. I assume battery operated and a wire running up the screen on the window. All of my childhood memories now are antiques, and so am I. May have 5 more years at best and good health. 86.

I remember those days tho you are 4 years older than me. My father made most of the radios in the beginning had wire strung from front yard to back for antenna.
