Thanks for info sounds like bigger money is in the game?.
A perspective from my medium size town in Canada. The downtown core continues to build condos, meaning the downtown population keeps increasing. Yet, retail is dead. No one seems to want to admit it, but outside of restaurants and services, there is so much empty retail space. Even outside of the core, stores like Best Buy, in the middle of the week, have more workers than people in the store.
It had wooden floors.
:)
Every other store in the Walmart strip is gone.
A.C. Moore is in the process of leaving right now.
Breaks my heart.
And here I am still missing Hudsons. They used to have a great little café in back with delicioumous salads. I think it was called the “Maurice” or something like that.
Some things Amazon just can’t deliver.
“Salamander” ... I get it! ;)
I’m just the opposite. I buy everything online. Shoes, clothing, etc. But I buy from places that I can return stuff to the brick and mortar store. I hate shopping in stores and refuse to try stuff on in them. I just returned a pair of boots to Nordstrom Rack and a pair of pants to Chico’s.
My daughter bought a leather sofa and loveseat from Wayfair. When it arrived it had some damage to one of the legs and a scratch on the back of the sofa. So she did the return process. About 3 weeks later they still hadn’t picked up the set so she called them. They said....well that item has been discontinued so it’s not worth us picking it up and your account has already been credited so just do what you want with it. Free $2000 leather sofa and loveseat!
They can do that because their cost is less than $200. :)
Brick and mortar = Amazon showrooms
Regardless of what it cost them that wouldn’t happen from most places. Needless to say, she now loves Wayfair. lol
