I don’t buy it. They would have found the vehicle by now.

Just a guess, the car was not occupied,

Had to have been occupied to get to that location.........

[Looks like an intentional Thelma and Louise moment.

High Speed, no braking or loss of control... ]

Or someone fell asleep with the car on cruise control.

I’ve not spent much time in California and have only driven that road twice. I do remember thinking that it would be bad to speed. A guardrail on some of those clifftop curves might be a good idea, but I suppose that’s too close to building a wall for Californians to contemplate.

I don't claim to be a psychic or a forensic investigator, but I watched that film a number of times and my new age sensibilities plus some very careful angle/speed calculations say that the police should be looking in the water below. The car is in the water below. I know you're saying 'Hey come on! how could YOU know? You're just some guy, you weren't even there!" Mark my words: the car is down below, more specifically, in the water. Yes, the water below. Below what? Below the cliff where it left the road at a high speed.

Maybe. Pretty remote coastline. Maybe no cell service.

Fake news

When a car goes off the road, there is no lift on the front end of the car to keep it from obeying gravity and dipping down.

The video shows the car traveling nearly horizontally, for at least 2 car lengths after departing the earth and unsupported.

That type of effect happens in the movies with charges to lift the front end up until the rear leaves the surface.

Far easier for this to have been a Photoshopped video, cutting the object and pasting on top of the sky background.

Yep, I used to go cycling on that road, generally drivers were nice but sometimes drifted because of the view. It was a nice climb back up over the coastal mountains. Really fun bike riding.

High penalty for failure was always evident.

You could be correct...the vehicle didnt bounce much...as it should have...also not much dirt kicked up...very clean path...did not seem to start falling after leaving ground...will have to review video again.

Yep - sure appeared that way - and we know you meant you hoped there were NO kids or other passengers...

Reminds me of an old joke though...
When I go, I want it to be peacefully and in my sleep like my Grandfather...not in screaming terror like his passengers.

Horrible. What a sobering video. Prayer for their loved ones.
